Great spot! I was here about 8 years ago, and was excited to bring my now husband. It didn’t disappoint- Prince quote on the door, giant pink disco ball, Arrested Development playing on a projector, comfortable booths, fantastic drinks, and, of course, the vibes and space are fantastic. While we were there, what seemed like an entire bus or two of young adults (18-21 ish) all wearing tennis/golf clothes or other fun costumes (so many visors!) came, took over for about an hour, then left. We were really amused and unfamiliar with their activity (a Scottish friend was happy to fill us in later!) but they were all friendly and having a blast. And the place is so big that it wasn’t an issue whatsoever. The only things that were weird were the bathroom stall was COMPLETELY dark- I had to turn on my phone flashlight or I wouldn’t have seen my hand in front of my face!! And when we asked for two shots of Maker’s, they came together in a rocks glass. Neither were issues, just funny anecdotes. Would send anyone visiting Glasgow here for sure!

It's been my 2nd appearance in Hillhead BookClub. Decent inside and very warm and comforting down stairs and upstairs. Usually get high level profiles heading in and with good seating areas and open social standing for drinking your favourite soft or alcohol drink. My soda and water limes didn't cost much and staff seem alright. The only thing I would say is the time it takes to get a drink or to be served is the longest I waited at a bar I think they must lose customers and money because my time waiting in the queue I noticed potential customers leaving because of the wait time and that's with 4 to 5 staff in at the bar. The bar staff are in slow motion and have no urgency in getting customers served it could be they don't want to be feel pressured and with a more calm attitude. The first wasn't as busy and servies to be served was better.

This is a lovely place for food and drink, done up with shabby and quirky styling, despite being owned by G1 Group. There’s a large outdoor seating area and inside there are lots of nooks and places to sit. The menu has a great selection, especially for vegans and vegetarians. The drinks selection is decent - some of the larger cocktails come in gramophones, as an Instagram-worthy gimmick. The atmosphere inside is great - a good noise level but booths mean you can still have a decent conversation. The service was really good - timely, friendly and attentive. The only negative is that we had tried to call to book and had left 2 voicemails but with no response. We’re lucky there was a booth available for us on the night. I know things are busy but if you don’t respond to messages then you’ll be missing out on custom!

The crispy tofu curry was delicious. Sadly there just wasn‘t enough sauce for the rice, so most of the rice basically tasted like nothing. I mentioned it to the waiter after paying and he said I should just ask for more sauce next time, so that was nice - in general I still would‘ve liked it better if there was enough sauce to begin with. I would really recommend the dish though, just keep that in mind. The portions were a little small as well. According to my friend, the veggie burger was ok, but the patty didn’t taste like much. Anyway, the staff was super friendly and I think it‘s worth a try!
