Harry Gow Bakery - Elgin — Restaurant in Scotland

I've never been before but was caught out for lunch and HG was there.

I've honestly never had a more pleasant experience.

It may seem wrong to say, but I just generalised baker's to be all the same.

I had lunch, which consisted of a panini, coffee and a muffin.

The quality of ingredients, size of the portion, taste and price far exceeded expectations. You'd ask for the same thing in a "high quality" / artisan style Cafe... it would be 4 times the price and nowhere near as nice.

I'd say as a road cyclist I've been to a few cafes, enough to feel qualified to give a valid opinion.

Wow! Visited the shop on our way to Inverness and am totally delighted by the products I bought and by the Ladies behind the counter: they were extremely nice, knowledgeable about the products and the environment. They advised us on what to do and see as we are in Scotland for the first time and we had a truly great time in following their instructions. I love food of all kinds near enough and not fussy at all. But when your charging £4.20 for a steak pie in photo attached is robbery. When the bill was totalled up I was shocked at the cost, that’s why I asked for a receipt to see how much the items were. Quality of the food was average at best and when the amount is that you’d expect top quality food. There’s no prices on the wall stating the cost of items only in the fridge on sandwiches. First time trying defo the first and only time at that should’ve went to greggs...
