HUGO'S Bar & Pavilion — Restaurant in Scotland

Booked a table for Saturday night 6pm went in on Saturday afternoon to hand in a cake, balloon and a teddy to put on the table for my husband's birthday. Asked for the balloon to be attached to the chair and the teddy to be sitting at the table for us arriving. Was told that was fine and would be done for us getting there at 6pm Me my husband and my mother and father in law arrived at 6pm and went to look for the table that we had booked in the outside area. Only to be told that there was a function on in there. Which we where not made aware of when booking even when we are to be sat in the outside undercover area. Went inside and asked a member of star where our table was to be looked at like we were stupid we eventually got taken to a table, but there was no balloon or teddy in sight. When I asked the girl about it she had no clue what I was talking about and took her about ten minutes to bring them out for me to have to hand to my husband instead of the surprise that we intended. We were extremely disappointed with the service, especially when I was advised that it was all ok to be done by the same person that I spoke to about the table in the begining. Seem to be a lack of communication and the staff be unapologetic was unprofessional we ended up leaving in the end and didn't eat or even have a drink. Husbands fish had him actually saying it was magic to the server lol

All 3 of us, absolutely adored our food. I literally hoovered it up.... BEST vegan food both of us have ever eaten in a restaurant. Food came quite quick, wasn't too busy, kitchen clearly on their game, chefs food was a pleasure to eat, we each tasted each others meal, we must have looked like we don't get out often 🤣. Young lady that took our order(sorry I didn't catch the name) bang on the right amount of everything and came across really interested in our day our meal and couldn't have been more genuine. I'd recommend 100% the cauliflower wraps, chilli jam to literally die for a load up ur fries !

I haven't been this satisfied since I discovered the mute button on my TV remote during Conservative political ads 🤣

Will be back and back and next time will bring the full family.

NO DIRECTION ON HOW TO GET SERVED. NO ORGANISATION. STAFF THAT DONT SEEM TO KNOW WHATS GOING ON, SO THEY JUST SAY THEY ARE FULLY BOOKED. LOTS OF EMPTY TABLES AND PEOPLE BEING FLUID DRINKERS COMING AND GOING, COULDNT EVEN SAY TABLES COULD BE HAD FOR HALF AN HOUR ETC. I DO WORK IN THE INDUSTRY AND AS WE ARE ALL STRUGGLING FOR WORK BECAUSE OF COVID RESTRICTINS, I WAS SURPRISED AT THE LACK OF ORGANISATION TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF THE TABLES ON OFFER. THE TABLE WE WERE REFUSED, REMAINED EMPTY FOR AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR, I KNOW THIS, BECAUSE AS WE COULDNT GET FOOD IN HUGOS, WE DECIDED TO BUY A NICE TAKEAWAY LUNCH AT THE LOCAL SHOP AND WE OBSERVED THE TABLE REMAINING EMPTY FOR THE TIME IT TOOK US TO BUY IT AND EAT IT AT A LOCAL BENCH.
