Jade Garden — Restaurant in Scotland

As a tourist visiting Rothesay, Bute, I was recommended to come here for Chinese food, so gave it a try, we were there late in the evening, it wasn't very busy, a table of 10 on one of the table, but we had to wait for over 15 minutes to be served. Starter was good, we ordered Mini vegetable spring rolls and Chicken Satay in skewer. Main meal wasn't as expected, my partner order beef in black bean sauce but when the dish came I have to question whether it was pork or beef, the meat was discoloured, he still took the dish anyway. We didn't want to make a fuss with the food so let it go. It was when we came to pay we were ask to pay cash, which we weren't made aware when we came into the shop. The waiter said it was signed at the door and he wasn't too pleasant when he told us this. My partner was then ask to get cash from cash machine so I waited till he return, during this time the table next to us was also encounter with the same problem not knowing they have to pay cash. It would have been more acceptable if staff can communicate more about this service to avoid...

Awful food. First time ordered it was extremely greasy and tasted like old oil. The meat was tough and not tasty. We thought we would try again but second time was even worse. Vegetable spring rolls dripping with oil, full of cabbage and meat! Pork hard and to chewy to eat. Noodles worse than pot Noodles, dry, stringy and no flavour. Beansprouts not cooked properly may as well have been raw. And told the menu was incorrect and didn't match the till so couldn't order what you wanted anyway. One of the worst takeaways throughout the UK. Much better...

Not much choice but go somewhere else to eat.

Update: This place is cash only so I can't post a picture of the receipt. The only waitress was very good, she was taking the phone orders and getting all the take-away orders ready for collection. There was no atmosphere as the place is dark, no background music playing. I assume that there are no other chinese on the island as the take-away was doing...
