My first visit to the isle of Bute. I’d been told it was full of old school boozers so I was looking forward to it. On my way to Rothesay I met a young man known locally as “wee Tommy “ who shook his head and told me “not good a lot of the pubs are closing” when I asked how he was. My first and last stop of my crawl was the grapes which is situated on the high street and seems to be the bar with the latest closing. It was good fun. Friendly locals and bar staff.
