Over the years I've visited this KFC a number of times and it just never gets any better. I have yet to receive an order that didn't have something wrong with it, be it missing dips, sides, drinks, it doesn't matter.
I visited this one again after being to a few others around the country during a holiday. During that time, I became quite fond of the zinger rice box with an extra zinger fillet.
Visiting this store, I could get a normal chicken rice box with extra fillet but not the zinger. But I could get a zinger salad box with an extra zinger fillet and a separate side of rice.
Really why was ordering this made so hard?
Put my order in, put my partners in and for the first time in a while, the wait was reasonable. I left and later discovered my partners fries to be missing.
In addition, upon opening my salad box... There was no extra fillet. I can judge this from having had several, from multiple different locations over the course of 3 weeks and really, there was only one. Or maybe 2 much smaller fillets compared to the other locations?
I've reduced the food by 2 stars not because it tastes bad, but because it is not what is asked for. Service and atmosphere rock bottom as it should not be this hard to place an order and the inside feels like a funeral is taking place.
The phrase "the customer is always right" does not mean that they get what they want. It simply refers to the fact that if you don't offer what customers want, they will go elsewhere.

Read moreOf the 3 self service machines, 1 was on. I placed my order, it offered table service, I got my code but it didn't print receipts. So just remember it I guess? After sitting for a few minutes a member of staff just starts shouting a number. With no other responses I assume it me. "The krushems is doing a self clean just now do you want Pepsi instead?" Yeah, sure.
Another few minutes. The staff member starts shouting my number again. I go across an its my food on a tray but only some of it? So not table service? As I pick up the tray the guy just walks off. Cool, make two trips because there was too much on the tray. No offer of cutlery or condiments. After sitting at the table for maybe a minute, I could literally hear the staff complain that customers were coming into the building.
I'll make special effort to avoid this store.
Update I went to this store again, visited the drive through. Ordered a fillet tower meal and a zinger burger, we were told the zinger may take a couple minutes, that's fine. Asked for a coffee with one of the meals, it's broke. Pepsi it is.
30 minutes later we get our meals. Off we go.
We open the meals to find, two fillet burgers. We waited for nothing and got the wrong burgers.
Wrong meal, no coffee and a 30 minute wait..

Read moreI think I'm turning into a real grouch about fast food. I like KFC, but some other family members don't, so I don't often get it.
On a trip on my own I seized the opportunity to visit KFC in Dundee. The first warning sign was a notice on the door asking people to be nice to the staff, as they were doing the best they could.
I ordered, took a numbered tent or 'bucket beacon' to get my order delivered, and found a table. After a fairly long wait a staff member shouted my order number, so clearly table service was off the menu. I got an apology for my wait and returned to my table.
The first thing I noticed was that the chips were cold, Not colder than I expected or preferred, but actually cold. I then tried my soft drink, to discover it was warm.
Finally the chicken - a mega bucket for one, and it was exceptionally good. The fillets, hot wings and pieces of chicken were all hot fresh and very tasty. Possibly as good as anything I've ever had from KFC.
All-in-all a frustrating experience. A long wait, being told by the order machine I'd get table service then didn't, cold chips and warm pepsi, balanced by hot, fresh and extremely tasty chicken which partially redeemed the other issues.
