Lychee Chinese Restaurant in Peebles — Restaurant in Scotland

I went to this restaurant with my family hoping that the food would've provided us with some much-needed comfort. Everything was going so well for us from the start after we had our starters and mains at the same standard like you find in any other place with the speedy service on store.

However, when we ordered our banana fritters, things went a bit downhill for us as we were in for a long wait for it come to our table. The reason behind it was relatively simple! There were two members of staff serving the customers on the night, with the chef from the kitchen temporarily added to the crew assisting them whenever possible.

Furthermore, I caught wind of one of the customers on another table in the same boat as I was when they asked for their food. What I overheard from the staff member was that they were low on numbers at the moment and they were playing catch up with the number of food orders piling up in the kitchen as the place gradually built up of other customers.

If there were four staff members working instead of two, then that would be a real improvement. That's my only drawback to what was a mediocre night for me! Aside that, the food tasted very nice and I would still recommend anyone coming to Lychee and eat there in the...

An Update for this review, Sainsbury's have now removed the recycling point due to the facility being abused by a number of businesses, so the local Loanhead community have now lost a much appreciated facility due to this restaurant and others selfish actions.

I discovered this restaurant when I saw masses of waste overflowing from a local recycling point, it seems that the business is fly tipping all its commercial waste including food waste and waste oil at a cardboard and glass recycling point provided by Sainsbury's at Straiton, there were dozens of kitchen order slips with customers names addresses and phone numbers amongst the waste and blowing about on the road, (pics). despite contacting the business and giving them the opportunity to stop this illegal activity, they have continued to dump their kitchen food waste and packaging creating a rat infestation issue...

Lychee to eat out is lovely even there take away is lovely but a month ago I called in an order they got it wrong got one meal instead of 2 to here mistake and they still charged me .last night 21/8/24 terrible mixed curry no onions on the curry thats a first my chicken fried rice was an absolute joke it was fried rice with shreds of chicken added no peas no sweetcorn not stir fried up anyway no soy sauce in it think i might need ho go show how its done thats how bad it is £30 for that it was terrible .I did call and complain how anyone could send that out to anyone got an apology no give you discount off your next ond do ram it wong be back .back to mandarin really disappointed .at least if you complain if something is wrong to mandarin he offers you free...
