Order Pictured - Christmas Dinner

Time - 60 mins in the place. 35 mins waiting and 10 mins to eat it.

Presentation - see pics, looks good.

Quality - 2/5 - As good as to be expected out with a proper home Cooked Xmas dinner. The broccoli was solid and the stuffing was like a slice of jelly, it was a slice between 2 small slices of turkey. Tastes like stuffing though and the turkey was bland. The gravy was good and the cranberry sauce added to the flavour. All in all slightly below average for what I was expecting from a fairly decent steakhouse.

Quantity - 2.5/5 - Average, not too much or too little. 3 pigs in blankets. Tiny baby potatoes cut in half. Small cuts of meat and stuffing.

Value for money - £50 for the 2 of us without drinks (water). £25quid per person for 2 courses. There was the a la carte menu and the Xmas menu. The Xmas menu should have had exact prices on them as they had but supplemental charges on for steak for example but there's a 25% discount during Mon to Wed on the a la carte menu. Me and the waiter were trying to figure out what the cheapest way of doing things was not that I was going for the cheap option anyway, money wasn't an issue. Initially I wanted a tbone steak cos I've had one out of there before but got the impression that was the wrong move so stuck with the turkey. But all in all it's a tad expensive for 2 courses for the lack in quality.

Additionally - U don't get a choice of potatoes (mashed/roasted), baby potatoes cut in half? Come on guys. There was no side of gravy or cranberry sauce. This should be mandatory. The restaurant also wasn't that busy and we still had a long waiting time. It was a Monday night. But the service was excellent and the staff were very attentive and helpful. We didn't book and got seated no bother at all. All in all I would stick to the steak the next time because that's what they...

Awful. I recently had a meal here. I ordered the vegan balls for starter and the halloumi and veg burger. Keep in mind, I ordered TWO vegetarian options. I was served my main and I trusted them, but I was given meat without knowing. I assumed their veggie burger was just very true to life, but I was wrong. They gave me a meat burger instead.

They told me I 'should have told them sooner'. But what difference would that make to the fact that you just served someone something they cannot eat? They then started joking around after I stressed how important this was, what if someone was allergic? I got a sorry from the waitress but that was it, the manager said he normally double checks. They asked, 'what do you want us to do'? Like, are you serious? I want you to realise the importance of this. I was up all night afterwards being sick and will be sick for god knows how long.

Avoid this restaurant, staff clearly do not care about dietary requirements. So truly disappointed that I trusted them and I am now ill and having to miss...

Decided to eat here after checking out various menus online. We thought the pre-theatre menu looked good online and we had picked our food from the menu before going. When the food arrived we soon discovered the menu online is not what they actually serve! We ordered mussels as a starter and steak for a main which states online is served with potatoes however when it arrived we literally just received a steak with a mushroom and tomato! When we questioned it we were told it was a mistake with the online website and that theyd had several people complain of the same thing yet they made no attempt to tell us when we were ordering that it doesnt come with chips or potatoes! I have never been in a restaurant that just serves steak on its own! The kids menu says it should come with a fruit shoot which we also never got and they charged us full price for my daughters drink! I wouldn't return as i feel there is better value...

food was really good. the beef stew was great and the bread topper, buttery, light, flaky, delicious. but the best part was the comradery of the manager on duty. he shared with us invaluable tourist information about traffic laws and customs there in Scotland as well as answered many questions for us and was a very genuine and likable person. it was really fun talking with him. we tried Haggis for the first time here. being from the states we have a very negative opinion of Scotland's favorite dish, our opinions based mostly on a clip from the movie Independence Day. To our surprise, it wasn't that bad and although it's not something I would ever order, I wouldn't shy away from it either. Bottom line: Good food. Great service. Great friendship, albeit short.

We had a group booking for 16 people for a family event. It was reasonably busy for a Saturday afternoon. Most people had starters, main and desert. The service was fast and all the staff were friendly. I had the calamari to start which was light and tasty. I followed with the jalapeño chicken strips which comes with rice and side salad. I finished with a 3 layer tarta fantastica ice creàm dish. It was lovely. I don’t gave any complaints about this restaurant despite some of the previous very bad reviews. It’s not haute cuisine but all the food was tasty, hot and fresh. Worth a visit for lunch or dinner.
