Such a lovely vibrant wee cafƩ doing really essential and innovative things (workshops, art exhibitions, other events like yoga and supper clubs in addition to selling food) in a town that has been struggling to diversify and accommodate/support ambitious new businesses for a long time. They make a consistently delicious variety of bread and pastries, the service is always so warm and friendly any time I've popped in for takeaway. Lovely compact yet relaxed environment in the middle of the sandgate. Today specifically I picked up two of the sourdough hot cross buns to bring home for my parents and they adored them. Gave them the highest honour of best hot cross bun either of them had ever tasted anywhere else. The praise is well deserved. I hope that narture continue to inject life into Ayr for many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHow to make a customer feel unwanted -- I'm a regular coffee drinker so I went to check this place out for the first time today. A 'hipster' (staff or owner) literally blocked my entrance and demanded to know if I wanted coffee or bread. When I said coffee his not too friendly response was we're closing soon.
There were still people there drinking coffee. Ok ur closing soon. You want to go home. SURELY a small business should be going out their way to welcome customers? I can get coffee anywhere but always like to give local businesses a chance. Theres no shortage of coffee options after all.

Various menus and food displays here and thereāconfusing as hell, particularly as some of it was unavailable late morning on a Friday visit. Our cheese and ham toasties had trace elements of cheese, no butter, the thinnest single slice of ham, barely toasted, not sliced in halfā¦just sadly plopped on the plate with the smallest-micro side salad I have ever seen. Small coffees are okay but training is required to not scorch the espresso base. Two toasties and 2 flat whites cost over Ā£19. Hmmmm. Would visit again if improvements...
