Slightly overhyped. Nice decor and vibe but food isn’t all that great if I am giving my professional opinion. We came for breakfast, the price vs the contents you get makes no sense. I don’t feel like it is value for money. There are other establishments who provide a fuller plate of fresh food for half of the price.
Our order consisted of x1 full breakfast, which was missing items as described on the menu. The plate itself was half full and the items were either cold or overcooked.
The other item ordered was x1 small breakfast, which wouldn’t satisfy a small child. With barely any contents, which describes the title well, but for the price again, not worth it at all. One strand of bacon and a dollop of scrambled egg does not = a fair portion for any breakfast. We left hungry after paying a somewhat more expensive bill compared to other places we have visited for a breakfast.
Other than the chef being in his own world, the staff spent most of their time behind the bar chatting and I only witnessed 2 male staff actually working / talking to customers. A relatively quiet morning but nonetheless, there was no attention to our table for quite some time and no notice of the missing breakfast items or somewhat lack of...
Read moreStopped here for dinner during a recent stay at the Savoy Hotel. What an amazing dinner. So. friggin. good. Ordered the nachos as a starter, and I'm from Texas - like I eat nachos on the regular - but these were some of the best nachos I've put in my mouth. We ordered the small for two people and it was a perfect size.
Then I had the fish and chips for my dinner - again - so. friggin. good. The batter was light and crisp, the fish was flaky and seasoned just right (compared to the fish and chips at the Savoy - I'd pick Treehouse hands down), and the fries - well those were amazing as well.
The fries seemed like they were probably twice fried, because the insides were cooked just right and the outside was delightfully crisp. Hubs had the special house burger which he loved as well, and we had ice cream for desert. Overall a completely delightful meal. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant if you're stopping through town.
My only complaint was that they seemed a bit short staffed because it took 30+ mins from getting the bill until someone came back to pay it, but I still had a drink so it wasn't the worst thing. If you're American though - don't expect the quick service you'd get in a...
Read moreCame in for a quick lunch while in Ayr.. was left waiting at the door for about 5/7 mins without being acknowledged.. Where I noticed how dusty and dirty the bronze hanging light were near the entry.. Finally got seated then immediately asked what i like to order without even looking at the menu.. Ordered a bottle of Munich Red West Brewery beer which came with a dirty glass.. So just drank it from the bottle then Ordered off the lunch menu.. Mac & Cheese with a side of Truffle and parmigiano fries.. Mac & cheese was rather runny and didn't come with Macaroni pasta it came with Rigate pasta that the cheese sauce didn't stick to as was rather over cooked and smooth.. Garlic bread wasn't Toasted well and was extremely overwhelming of garlic.. Truffle fries were average couldn't taste the truffle oil much.. Tbh the only decent think was the beer.. Didn't get a check back till I was already asking for the bill and while I was sitting trying to enjoy my lunch I could hear the manager swearing.. Not somewhere I would come back and bring my family especially young kids. Overall disappointed as had high expectations with Buzzworks being the biggest restaurant chain...
