Niu Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Always nice to discover a new place by chance. My friend and i were heading for breakfast at Wetherspoons Main St. Rutherglen but they were closed due to a water stoppage. At a bit of a loose end for options, a stranger recommended Niu Cafe in a side St off Main St. All the time i have lived in nearby Kings park and i never new this quaint little place existed. Seemingly, operating since 1999 this small cafe is run by a lovely chinese family. They have an extensive menu catering for all tastes and a special deal childrens 3 course meal. Breakfast is a complete joy, far better quality than Wetherspoons at a similar price. Every breakfast item you could wish for with tea, or coffee and toast included. Portions are huge. Great food from there grilled jumbo breakfast tho wait till you have tryed the hot & spicy chicken wings just dynamite a cheap starter. grilled chicken salad is my regularly order. The chef is off on a Wednesday so keep in mind as he serves up a realy must try Japanese style steak curry....Other great foods are the chicken satay but big portions if going for the three courses. Sea food pasta amazing also. I've being told cheese toastes to much cheese : ( but can't fault this place sometimes service slow if bizzy. Staff very friendly always remember you. Prices reasonable. First time visiting, the food was pretty darn good and the service was very good and fast. 10/10 would recommend. There was a situation at the entrance, a women with a dog tried to enter and shouting "its a service dog" without showing the credentials proving and the staff was very professional in dealing with the situation. As a tourist i find it sad that this types of situations happen and sometimes it can tarnish the rep of the place. This time the staff put the clients ahead of everything else. Overall, top scoring and i will be back...
