We had seen this on tik-tok so thought we would try it. The set meal for 2 £29.99 is what we went for. We ordered it late so picked up shortly before close.
When the other half arrived he saod the lady on the counter was really rude. Not welcoming just looked at him and said sit there. He tried to say he was here for a collection. But she dismissed him until she was ready to speak to him and just said pick up? He said yes she didn't ask his name and went through the back, returned and said £29.99? Hes thinking I dont know. And said is it for... and give his name. Then when he went to pay it wouldn't accept his card despite the card reader showing it. Shambles and not a great start.
We had 4 poppadoms and the condiments these were all nice. The spiced onions were delicious. We went for the chicken pakora. But this was soo bad. I font know of we had been left with the dried out dregs. The chicken was so thin, like slithers of meat. It was bone dry, the batter was thick and again bone dry and so hard to bite into we ended up leaving it. The sauce was nice though.
The main we had chicken korma and butter chicken with pilau rice and garlic naan. The rice was nice and the naan delicious.
The chicken was smaller chunks and the chicken in the butter chicken had been frilled and tasted really nice. I went for the butter chicken after seeing it online. I dont normally go for sweet but I was not prepared for how sweet it was, the sauce was very buttery but the sweetness was like having a dessert. Think sweet custard and that's the level of sweetness, mars bar level sweetness. It really ruined the dish. The korma was also massively sweet and the other half didn't enjoy it either. One thing that was really weird, despite the dishes being piping hot as soon as the sauce started to cool down slightly the sauce became really thick with a bit of a weird consistency, you coukd really feel the texture change in your mouth. I'm not sure what is used to thicken it but neither of us have experienced this before and we ended up leaving it. What would have been a good deal was a let down and mostly went in the bin which was a shame after looking forward to try it out.
Its not somewhere I would want to try again. I would have contacted them but given the welcome we received I do t think they would have been very receptive to it. High hopes...
Read moreThe owners are wonderful and have such a passion for what they do! Their service and the interior is stunning. I love their mango lassi, chicken Karaih, and lamb Karahi. The Karahi has a longer wait time but it is definitely worth the wait. In all honesty, the only one thing that I would recommend for improvement is that the food taste should remain consistent regardless of who cooks it. There has been certain times that I have gone in to have my favorite meal from them and someone else cooked it that is not the owner, and it was not nearly the same. That can be disappointing for the overall experience, so I suggest that is worked on. I have decided to give a 5 out of 5 despite this area of improvement because their food is that amazing and the owners are so lovely! I highly recommend this place, I think everyone...
Read moreFirst experience of Rasuls , went for the desi Nashta , the nihari with the halwa/ puree / channay plus an aloo paratha . Service was very slow , felt sorry for the waiters on a Saturday afternoon , restaurant was full but simply not enough staff to support , the restaurant needs to address this as service impacted . Food was decent overall , the purées were too crispy though , should have been softer . Nihari was nice but only one piece of meat in the dish , appreciate restaurants need to cover their costs , but that was ridiculous . The paratha was nice but nothing special . Portions as a whole were small for the price you were paying compared to other restaurants in Glasgow / Edinburgh that...
