If you haven’t experienced the culinary carnival that is Smiffy’s Chip Shop, you’re seriously missing out. I walked in expecting the usual chippy fare and left feeling like I’d just dined at the five-star establishment of fried delights. The fish was so fresh, I half-expected it to do a little tap dance on my plate. The chips? Golden, crispy masterpieces—each one a starchy sonnet to the humble potato.

The service? Imagine being greeted by long-lost friends who just so happen to be chip connoisseurs. The staff were so friendly I almost invited them to my nan’s birthday party. They’ve mastered the art of banter while expertly slinging out plates of perfection.

I must admit the prices are expensive especially their fish and chips which is good. Its so easy to get to this place from train station turn right follow the road or pavement along the shops till you see mountain warehouse and your at chip shop next to where Trespass used to be. This chip shop is busy and new bleep device they give you due to the covid-19 pandemic is pretty good service. The staff are friendly and it's kept clean. This chippy also has a restaurant style sitting area, but we had takeaway this time. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and served by two polite young men. The young men appeared to be supervised by an efficient lady. Our order came out quickly. The chips were very nice. My 2 sons had chicken Goujons, which looked decent, better than most restaurants. The children's portion was a decent size, as was the adults. My husband had a veggie burger, which was cooked to perfection. I could see the chefs making our order.
