Place was quite as it was just after 5pm. Nice setting nice sitting area Pleasant on entering however not ask once how the meal was, if we like it or not during our meal from started to end. I asked for the hottest vindeloo Lamb which was supposed to the the hottest and the starter spice onions was hotter. Food was average and sauce was not the thick but not watery. House wine was average too. , For £18 per bottle not worth it move up and pay couple £ more for a better wine if you visit. Felt not great experience however we did finish our meal just not as good as we are used too back in good old Shotts

It's a clean and good restaurant nearer to the bay. But the food wasn't tasting authentic. Roti and naan were center-fresh (Not fully cooked). The chicken gravy was prepared just from onions and tomato paste; was really awful. On the other hand, it was an expensive (one Roti is 4 pounds) hotel. Just for the good ambiance and clean atmosphere, no one needs to pay this much when the food wasn't tasty at all. After all, a restaurant is expected to serve tasty and authentic food. The waiter doesn't have full idea about Indian cuisine, in spite of being an Indian origin. I won't go again 😔

The worst restaurant I have ever experienced Firstly when I came in the staff was in a confused mindset weather to take or not to take us that was the most disgusting and more over when we got in and ordered the food it wasn’t even Indian flavour we ordered a lot stuff but only was saag paneer was good but rest of the stuff was not even cooked properly and then the story began the staff started explaining how it is not cooked so silly I being an Indian suggest not to go in please please not to visit it

We hadn't booked but were advised to come back in half an hour - not a problem as there's surrounding bars. We asked if they needed our details to secure the table but were advised it was not necessary. Upon returning, the table planned for us had been given to a group of 9 men resulting in us having to wait another half an hour. Sadly the staff were rude, curt with their service and non apologetic for the wait. I can only assume this was the result of them being busy. We were eventually seated at 9.10pm with a 10pm COVID curfew. There were no poppadoms left and we knew there was not enough time for us to enjoy a starter. We had the chicken tikka bhuna and the chilli masala - both dishes tasted exactly the same! The chilli masala had one green chilli present and the equivalent of 3 whole garlic cloves sliced and mixed through - not pleasant. The rice was the best part of the meal - light and fluffy. Although this was overlooked due to the manner in which it was "placed" on the table. We had 15 minutes to eat our meal before 10pm - the police attended telling the proprietor he had 15 mins to empty the premises. No apologies from the staff for mismanaging the situation with some tables having to accept their meals as take away. Food mediocre at best, service appalling, choice of drinks basic. I do...

Note to Indian or Indians by origin: Please do not attempt to go to this place. There is a strong visible bias not to entertain Indians or Indians by origin. The manager or the person taking the food orders made it very clear that this is not food that Indians are used to. In fact asked how long have we been in UK. Not sure what the intent was. We did not know that this place has a strict policy of a minimum food value (about £14/person). When we started ordering two items, the manager promptly cut us in middle of the conversation and said please read the last page to see the terms and conditions. It’s on the bottom right corner on the last page of the menu. If they are so particular about it, they should print it on top of the menu on the cover. Why keep it at the back when you are so strict and particular about it. We said that we will order later based on how we feel after having the first couple of dishes. We were not hungry to have food ordered extra and then thrown away. But we were told that we need to order everything in one single order only. The whole attitude was so unfriendly and unhospitable that it wasn’t worth staying. We had to walk out since we don’t believe in wasting food. The restaurant needs to look at their etiquettes and soft skills. No wonder the reviews are not...

I am giving 1 star as I can't give 0 stars. My experience at the Taj Mahal restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment my friends and I walked in, we were greeted by the rudest manager I have ever encountered. He was a bald man with his complete lack of professionalism and hospitality. He talked to my female friend so rudely that I felt like slapping him right at that moment. Upon arrival, we asked for a table for 6 people and we could see that there was a table available, but he told us that it would "become congested" if we sat there. If it was so why the table is present there in the first place, just remove tables where you would feel like it would become congested!!!!!! It was an utterly disrespectful and frustrating experience. It serves Indian food but its an Bangladeshi Restaurant because believe me guys, Indian people are not this rude. It's a shame that such a beautiful establishment is marred by the presence of such an inhospitable individual. I strongly advise anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience to steer clear of this establishment until they address their management issues and ensure a more welcoming atmosphere for...
