Hi I sent an email aswell regarding today as I’m absolutely in shock with how bad our waiter was!
I’m not really one to complain this way but I thought it’s something you guys should know. Me and my mum and little sister came today. The guy doing front of the house was amazing sat us down asap everything was fine. Then it came to ordering our food. From the get go the waiter was super rude, huffing and puffing about minor inconveniences but we overlooked it as they were just having a bad day. My little sister ordered a desert but didn’t want to anymore so my mum went to our waiter and apologised (which the order was just put in so wasn’t really a big deal) they started huffing and stamped their leg like a toddler and said “I’ve just put it in but I’ll let kitchen know” my mum was thankful. Then my mum said to my little sister “say thank you to the man” as they didn’t tell us what their pronouns were and my mum was calling them “son” all throughout our meal so we genuinely never knew. We are the most understanding with pronouns, if they told us we would of course never say “man”. The waiter turned around and rudely shouting in my mums face “I AM NOT A MAN” to the point everyone in the restaurant actually laughed in disgust. my mum went “aww sorry how was I suppose to know” the waiter stormed off and blatantly ignored us the whole time. Then it came to the end of the meal my mum wanted to take her meal away as she had a lot left. Again the waiter was ignoring us the whole time to the point my mum had to walk up to them with the plate of food as ask, to then the waiter said “go sit back down with your plate” so rudely we were flabbergasted as to how rude they were as if we were in school. Another lovely person took the plate (guy at the front of house) and boxed it for us by this point my mum had to go outside and clam herself down as she has severe anxiety and really never leaves the house. So I was myself and watched the waiter just walk past me whenever i said “can I get the bill”. I gave up at this point and ask the person at the front of house. My mum came in at this point. I assume the guy at the front of house told the waiter we wanted the bill as he was the one who handed it over to us. My mum being the kind person she is literally tipped them £4 in all honesty I wish she never tipped a thing. I’m absolutely fuming at this. How dare they. Not even a thank you from the waiter either for the tip. You can’t write it. Once we got the receipt their name was on it it was “Alice W”. All round lovely experience from everyone/everything else but wow never seen customer service like it. Again as I said if Alice had just told us their name and what they identifies as there would of been no issue but we aren’t psychic we didn’t know and at the end of the day that’s their responsibility to do so! Please get this sorted before it gets in the wrong...
Read moreWe booked TGIS for the reopening night after COVID_19 myself and the group have all been key workers throughout the pandemic we were really looking forward to a great night.
We arrived at the restaurant and was took straight to the table we orders our normal drink Wich is peroni we were told they had no peroni on tape due to covid we asked for bottles. The bottles arrived to find they we’re gluten free we were not advised off this.
We then asked for the other beers they had on tape to he told we are not offering draft at all again very disappointing he then brought bottles of a different beer I was drinking myself so asked for draft coke to then be told they had run out this was the first night of them opening !! Again very disappointing.
I asked for glass bottles of coke to Be told there was none available I ended up drinking lemonade in the end we orderd food that was a challenge in its self to be told we can’t do this we can’t do that ect ect aging all down to covid ??? My friend wanted the tomahawk steak to be told our butcher is closed due to covid but they had other meat available on offer all very miss leading and concerning.
When the food did arrive it was bellow Average and very simple aging disappointing for a first restaurant experience since March !! One of my friends had a sirloin steak it was like rubber we sent it back to receive yet another steak the same.
The attitude from the staff and the manager on shift was nothing but unprofessional rude and to be honest They did not care.
I then reported this to the website to then get a call back from the general manager the fowling night and to be honest she came up with an answers and excuses for everything.
I have worked in Hospitality for May years and it was a complete. Disaster from start to finish no offer of a return visit at a discount or anything!! It’s safe to say we will not be returning to TGIS again Wich is disappointing as we went nearly...
Read moreMy daughter and I visited your Glasgow Fort branch yesterday and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
Our booking was for 12pm and we arrived and few minutes early. There was one other table seated and two people at the bar. One of the members of staff at the bar looked in our direction and did not acknowledge us and continued talking to his colleague. He then left the bar a second time and looked directly at us and yet again, ignored us. My daughter commented to me “shall we just go”. I had to walk over to say we had a booking and was there someone who could help us? Eventually, a waitress came and showed us to our table.
We were given menus, one child’s and one main menu. I looked through it and realised we had not been given the 2 for £15 menu. The waitress came back to take our order and I asked for this. Firstly, she said it was not on and wasn’t willing to find out. She went away and I ended up bringing up your website and offer on my phone to show her. She came back and was shown your deal on the phone and then said its finished. I then said you can it be finished if its on your web site just now and last night when I viewed it. She eventually conceded and spoke with a manager who “agreed” to honour it! Really.. You shouldn’t have this much hassle just to order from a deal advertised on your website.
Lots of other people came in and at no point was there any mention of the 2 for £15 deal. My daughter was still eating her pudding and the bill was dropped on our table with waitress holding the card machine.
Our meal was ok but nothing startling, but our overall experience was tainted by awful customer service and hassle over trying to use an advertised deal on your Facebook page and website.
Looking at the comments on Facebook under this advertised deal, we are not alone in not being offered this. Poor show...
