We were staying over for a few days in auchmithie and we were really struggling to find a traditional chippy that would cater to our dietary requirements as alot of places use beef dripping to fry or if they don't they use the same fryer with meat products. Thankfully we came across the Bellrock Restaurant which has a traditional chip shop attached to the restaurant where you can get anything on their menu to takeout. The owner confirmed that the fish and chips were suitable for a halal diet and we were even more assured we made the right decision when we seen how busy both sides of the establishment was. We opted for the battered cod and chips which were cooked fresh in front of us and were delicious! The batter was light and crispy which is just how we like it and hey serve generous portions. Great food, great service and I would definetley come again! If you are looking for some top quality fish and chips i would highly recommend the Bellrock to all if you are in the area!

Stopped in for a late lunch on our way back from Pleasure land as the reviews seemed quite positive. The atmosphere was lacking a bit, nice decor but it wasn't busy and felt quite "stiff" maybe some quiet background music would help? Staff were nice but felt attentive at the wrong times. We were rushed to put our order in (came over 3 times in the first 5 minutes of being sat) but when we had questions, wanted re-fills or wanted to pay they were nowhere to be seen. Food was nice, highly reccomend the massala fish or smokies as these were both incredible. Everything else was nice and well made but nothing spectacular. Overall would definitely come back but maybe when it is a bit busier so the atmosphere feels more full and energetic.

We had a lovely meal of fish and chips. The menu has a list. We ordered mushy peas, curry sauce, and gravy to go with the Haddock and chips. Haddock in batter very fresh full of flavour very tasty and the batter light and crunchy . Chips beautifully cooked to perfection All in the food we had was delicious and piping hot. Waitress service was friendly and efficient and we did not have to wait too long for our meal. We also had pot of tea and a cappuccino which tasted lovely. I did notice they do a huge variety menu, pizza, 3 course buffet menu, and Sunday roasts. I would recommend The Bell Rock Restaurant ,

I had a really disappointing experience and i want to share some of them first of all as soon as i came in there was a really fishy smell which left a really bad scent on my clothes which i had to change when i got home next we were granted with good service which is why i am giving them one star and we were given a table straight away but when we got the table it was dirty and sticky and they had to clean it for us. Next the waiter took forever to come to our table and ask for our order when they came we orderd 3 drinks some nachos and a breaded fish and batterd fish the drinks came first and they only came with 2 insted of 3. next the nachos came and they looked pretty appealing but the cheese was frozen in the middle. We also ordered to eat from the buffet but everyone was just using their hands and not using the utensils provided which put me right off my food. I got some cake from the buffet and it was the most driest cake i have ever tasted. When he fish came our breaded fish was literally drenched in oil and it tasted totally off, the fish also took around 30 minutes to come. There were loads of kids running around and there was too much noise especially for old people who were wanting to enjoy their meal. When i went to the bathroom it smelled absolutly rank and it was a mess. Unfortunatly i did not have a good meal and i wont be...

I have edited my review as your reply is falsely claiming that I had eaten more than half of my meal in an attempt to deflect attention from the poor quality of the food that I received. Please look at my profile pictures where you can see the food that I received. I ordered a fish supper, kids fish box meal, and chicken fillet supper to be delivered. The food was delivered with the drink and toy from kids meal missing. (I was given these when I returned my food to the shop). The fish supper batter was soggy, and luke warm I started eating it but gave up after a couple of bites the chips were in my opinion a mixture of fresh and reheated. The chicken fillet supper was also soggy and wet the batter had started falling away from the chicken. I received a refund for the chicken fillet supper when the staff saw the state of it. I was not refunded for the fish supper as I had started eating it. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and the service received. So disappointed that I returned the food in person to the shop. I have eaten food from the Bell Rock many times but after this experience I will...

Went in tonight for my tea with my wife.

Friendly staff got us seated right away and we did the necessary with details and sanitiser etc..

Got our drinks right away and staff buzzing about making sure everyone was kept happy and the place spotless.

My wife had the fish and chips with lemon, tartar sauce and bread and butter. She's really picky about good fish and chips and loved her meal. I nicked a bit and it was really nice. I had a big proper flame grilled burger with chilli, cheese, onion rings and salad with chippy chips. Meal was big, but not too big, and really tasty.

Again staff really nice and cleared up for us. Decided to go with a pudding even though I was stuffed. I had an ice cream dish with flake, shortbread, strawberry sauce and a biscuit straw. Brilliant and lots of it. My wife had the sticy toffee pudding and ice cream with sauce and toppings. Looked great and I tasted a wee bit. Brilliant..

Well priced with great food and friendly staff looking after their customers and doing all the current necessaries. Definite return...
