New City Garden — Restaurant in Scotland

Usually they are great but good lord what a shambles. Kitchen staff shouting at each other, front of house staff with air pods in (great service guys). I got my salt and pepper chips within 15 minutes, but it’s not a great look when people around me have been waiting for between 30 minutes to 3 hours.

As for the food quality, the chips were less than ideal, half the chips dry, the other half very under cooked and overall poorly seasoned. The vegetables were utterly awful too, one 5 inch long, very raw and very bitter spring onion, the very green part too, not the flavourful white end of the plant. Use the better parts of the spring onion and use a knife to cut them into smaller pieces, and for god sake fry it within the chips too.

Why on earth take on more orders than you are capable of handling is beyond me, all it does is reduce quality and service and I hope it’s the last time...

On Saturday evening, I placed an online order and initially waited for an hour. Frustratingly, I eventually had to visit the restaurant and endured an additional hour of waiting. Had I not gone to the restaurant , I would have likely waited for my meal for a total of 3 hours. This restaurant used to be my go-to, but that's no longer the case. The chips were dry and lacked seasoning, and the rice was crunchy, not to mention the undercooked chips.

What's even more disappointing is that I waited longer than someone else who received complimentary drinks, but I wasn't offered anything, despite being a loyal customer for over 10 years. It's absurd, and it's clear that the quality of this place has declined since the new owners took over. This level of service is completely...

The past 4 or 5 times we have ordered from here, we have not been happy with our food. Chips often soggy, fatty meat, and prawns tasting dodgy in special fried rice & special chow mein. 100% would not recommend getting anything with prawns from here, as seafood can be dangerous if not stored and cooked properly - a potential health & safety violation that shouldbe checked!! The meat has been really stringy with fat recently too. Really not happy as we used to find this the best chinese in town! Tonight we had to wait almost an hour and a half for our food to be delivered, and it arrived in the state as described above, which was such a disappointment! Won't be wasting our money again, and we certainly won't be coming back for a good wee while until they...
