My partner and I moved from London (15 years) to Glasgow (3 years) to Helensburgh (2 years and counting).

Though we were looking forward to the change in lifestyle afforded by a rural location we were incredibly nervous about the food/cafe culture which we'd grown accustomed to. Enter GBM.

The cafe is an absolutely gem and, had it been in either London or Glasgow, we would still have found ourselves coming here over other options.

The venue itself is really lovely however, it is the food that will keep you coming back. It is exciting and on point. The various small plates nights will have you looking forward to your nights out here just as much as your Saturday afternoon brunch. Not to mention that the cocktails (two chili mojitos please, Anita!) are always spot on. I could go on and on about the food but there is just so much variety that there's no point. It is consistently fantastic (though I will give a special shout out to the watermelon curry. Oh and the beef ragu. How about the Nasi Goreng? Or the brisket hash? Cullen Skink croquettes? You see my point...). The numerous cakes and breads are also delicious (cinnamon buns!).

The staff here is amazing. Very personable but also attentive and great at their jobs. They come across as a proper team.

Lastly, a word on the owners. Both are really lovely guys and very, very good at what they do. Even in a well-served food scene such as that in Helensburgh they have created something truly special. Come here just once and you...

Popped in here for the first time. We used to use the GB bakery in its humble beginning at the Bell Centre in Dumbarton. Love the bread from the bakery but decided to get a wee sit down breakfast. A rare day off together for my wife and me so we went for brekkie. Opted for the roll and black pudding and I had the scrambled eggs on toast. 2 bits of pudding for my wife we're too much so I happily obliged in taking one. It was delicious. The eggs were perfect and the bread was amazing! My cappuccino was super creamy and tasty, full of flavour. I had the beetroot and chocolate cake, sounds heavy but it was actually really soft and light. Packed with earthy flavour and the soft cream topping was melt in the mouth. My wife had the carrot cake and was thoroughly satisfied. Great efficient and friendly service from the young lady who attended to us. She had a really lovely manner and chilled vibe. Whatever you folks are doing, keep it going as this was a superb breakfast. We will be back along to try more of the...

I came here twice in as many days, first time on a whim to grab a life saving lemonade near closing time after a 25 plus mile hike I had no business attempting in my physical condition around Argyll & Bute. The second time was to try the food I’d spotted the previous day, (I would highly recommend the Brie, Bacon Jam & Pickle Roll). The staff are very friendly and despite being busy quickly wiped down some tables from leaving patrons and were very attentive with a “nothing is too much” attitude. I’ve mentioned it in other reviews, some places hit the perfect balance of vibe and atmosphere and this most certainly does that. With my lower body aching more than I was willing to admit to walking companions I found this a very relaxing place to spend some time. The none intrusive background music had me Shazamming away.

To sum up if you like nice people, excellent coffee, delicious food all at a fair price then you should...

Popped in here after hearing so many good things. Ordered the Kimchi BBQ pork sandwich and a can of coke which the girl serving me couldn't even tell me the price of. The sandwich was super messy but tasted alright apart from there being no kimchi on it and the majority of the pork being on the outside of the bun. I had it as a take away so I'd hope it would all be abit better if I had sat in.
