Venue: The Lobby Bar at Cameron House Date: 9th June, 2024 Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Ambience: The Lobby Bar Tea Room offers a charming and sophisticated setting for afternoon tea. Nestled in a historic building, the interior exudes elegance with its plush seating, antique decor, and soft lighting. The serene atmosphere is perfect for a leisurely afternoon. Service: The service was very good (there’s a young lad who has served me multiple times but forget his name, is always spot on). From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive and courteous. They provided detailed explanations of the tea selection and menu items, and were quick to accommodate special requests. Unfortunately as the afternoon went on and more guests arrived it was difficult to track someone down, at one point waiting 20mins for a pot of tea. Tea Selection: The tea menu was extensive, featuring a variety of black, green, white, and herbal teas. I opted for the classic Earl Grey, which was perfectly brewed with a fragrant aroma and rich flavor. My companion chose a delicate Jasmine Pearl green tea, which was light and refreshing. Food: The tiered stand of treats was a visual delight. It included: Sandwiches: The assortment included smoked salmon with cream cheese, cucumber and dill, roast beef. Each sandwich was fresh and flavorful, with the bread soft and the fillings well-balanced. Scones: The scones were the highlight. Served warm, they were buttery and crumbly, accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry jam. Pastries: The selection of pastries was both beautiful and delicious. Standout was the raspberry cheesecake. Overall Experience: The Lobby Tea Room provides a quintessential afternoon tea experience. The combination of an inviting ambience, exceptional service, and delectable food makes it a perfect spot for a special occasion or a leisurely treat. While the price is on the higher side, the quality and surroundings justify the expense. The only minor drawback was the lack of service throughout the experience. Recommendation: Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in a classic afternoon tea experience with stunning surroundings. Be sure to make a reservation, especially on weekends, to secure a table.

We visited The Lobby Bar of the hotel for the recommended afternoon tea. The hospitality and attentive service is to be particularly emphasised, Joanne and Victoria were very warm and helpful. We enjoyed many treats with a view of the garden and the lake. The tea selection was great, but unfortunately the sandwiches were a bit boring and not as flavourful as the rest of the dishes. However, we would definitely recommend Tea Time.
