Having spent last weekend at Cameron North Lodge which was booked for a special occasion, we feel the level of service from Olivers Travels and the owner was a disgrace. We felt there should have been someone to meet us on arrival to show us how to use the Bose system and hot tub but apparently this is not the case according to the owner or Olivers Travel. We were informed this was pointed out within the terms and conditions. On contacting Olivers Travels, the owner and Cameron House no one seemed interested in the problems we were having. We were told by Olivers Travels and the owner all the information we required was in a black book located in the lodge.
According to the terms and conditions, I was advised there would be a £1000 pending in my bank account in case of damages/breakages within the lodge. I feel this is an excessive amount of money to be sitting pending on a bank account. On contacting Olivers Travel, I was told the money would be deposited into my account either on the Monday/Tuesday after the lodge had been cleaned and checked. I explained what if I didn't have that amount of money in my account for this to be pending, I was rudely told we would not be able to get access to the lodge, which is absolutely ridiculous.
On contacting Olivers Travels today by phone (Tuesday), when the money was still not showing as being put back into my account, I was now told that it normally takes up to seven days, which is an absolute disgrace, although we could not fault the lodge as it was absolutely gorgeous with a beautiful setting. The problems with the sound system continued all weekend as no one had shown us how to use this properly which definitely put a damper, on what should have been a fabulous weekend. We were also unable to use the hot tub on the day of arrival as this was...

Beautiful setting and location Lovely open plan living/dining room Free Access to the facilities at Cameron House hotel. Discounts for golf and spa at Cameron house. Lots of toys and play stuff for children.
Negatives:
This property does not have enough hot water for the number of guests it sleeps. We were 6 adults and 2 toddlers and after 2.5- 3 showers in the morning the hot water had emptied. Having complained it was communicated this property is run on an electric system. It did cause us significant issues with not being able to run a hot bath for small children, wash up with hot water or all get hot showers prior to leaving the house. There is an electric shower which is provided as a back up, however the temperature of the water fluctuates between hot and cold and isn’t particularly powerful. If you are a larger group be aware of this.
It was such a shame as the property and location was lovely but given we went in winter, constant hot...
Read moreVisiting Cameron North Lodge is becoming a bit of a family tradition for us. We've been several times, this time to celebrate a 70th. The wow factor remains undiminished. We love the luxurious nature of the house and the tranquility of the location on the shore of Loch Lomond. The Lodge has ample parking for at least 6 cars and in our case also our RIB powerboat. You feel very special staying here, the interior has been tastefully designed with high quality materials throughout. Although very private you are a very short walk to Duck Bay or Cameron House. Shallow draft boats can anchor off the private beach although you need to launch at the Duncan Mills slipway. We love to take the kids up to Inchmoan Island for treasure hunts and picnics. The large hot tub is a favourite with adults and kids alike and in the evening it's magical with the lights wrapped round the trees in the grounds. We're looking forward to our next visit in July '25. It's 5...
