How not to run a bar. Got to the pub and we were told we couldn't be seated because it was fully booked for the quiz. We explained we didn't want to eat, only to have a few drinks and take part in the quiz but the lady serving said no and we should go to the Scott's Bar instead. A really unwelcoming start.

Despite this we found ourselves a table and managed to get drinks. Annoyingly it's table service only which could be OK if the service wasn't so unbelievably slow. We ended up going up to the bar to order but they said they'd have to deliver the drinks to the table.

Also in terms of pub quizzes. Honestly the worst pub quiz I think I've ever done. It was all over an app and needed fastest fingers to get most points. This basically removed all social elements from a pub quiz. We ended up being in a 2 way tie for winning the quiz and somehow we ended up coming 2nd with the other team coming 5th 🤷

What can I say, Joseph is a star and was doing triple the work of others, he'd taken food to 3 tables and cleared 2 while everyone else was standing around the bar watching the tennis. Me and my partner came in and there wasn't many table to choose so we sat down where we waited more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged and when we were we had to wait another 10 for a menu because they were low on menus. After getting them we didn't even have 10 seconds and we were asked for our order, I asked for a minute and not even 1 minute later someone else came asking for our order. The table next to us sat with empty starter plates for more than 15 minutes. It wasn't until after Joseph had brought our starters did we get cutlery and still sitting at a dirty table. A lot of disorganisation, not knowing the status of a table and standing doing nothing while one coworker is nonstop moving to make up for others laziness. Haggis dirty fries...

The food itself was decent – the burger was flavorful and came with crispy fries, the chicken Caesar salad was fresh and well-prepared, and the fried chicken strips were crunchy and tasty. However, the portion for the chicken main was extremely small, leaving it far from satisfying as a main course.

Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It took far too long to get our meals, and even basic requests like napkins, silverware, or drinks required repeated reminders. The staff were inattentive and didn’t seem interested in creating a pleasant dining experience. With service this poor, it’s hard to appreciate the food. Sadly, I...
