I came here for lunch on Friday 1st April - after being excited due to me and my partner not being in Mint for a few months now. First experience we absolutely loved. This visit however was a total let down.

The moment we walked in, there was a waitress standing at the bar - she was the first one we noticed upon entry. She came up and asked if we had a booking, in which we replied "no" (not even a hello, nor even a smile). Where she walked up to the next counter, in who I believe was the floor supervisor said to put us on Table 8. We were then showed our seats and were asked for our drinks order - to us ordering a glass of water and a coca cola. The waitress still never smiled. As she was about to walk away, my partner called out an "excuse me" - to when the waitress looked as if she stopped in her tracks, and rolled her eyes just before she turned back around to answer. We both noticed this, and found it rather upsetting - to then maybe giving that waitress a miss and enjoy our meal. Because we were so close to leaving due to the sour face of the waitress, the unpleasant welcome we received and the feeling of someone who clearly doesn't come across customer orientated.

Then as the lunch progressed, I ordered my chicken strips with piri sauce - to then having them served with a tomato sauce instead, and with no lemon hand wipes. However, I never complained or mentioned due to them tasting delicious.

The mains came along, and the mains were just splendid. I really did enjoy my black pudding and peppercorn burger. A huge compliment to the chef/chefs who put that together for myself. One of lifes little pleasures.

We received a check back - which I was almost surprised about. Because the service was ok up until then. It was the boy with dark hair, and was the only one who looked like he was on top of everything.

We got our food quite quickly and the waitress who dropped off our mains was pleasant also. She highlighted how the plate was hot to my partner, and seemed cheery.

Coming from working in hospitality for years myself, and working in a 5 star hotel in Bearsden - maybe I'm being too picky. But, my partner even saw through the flaws. Especially from the rude waitress at the beginning. Maybe because we were slightly underdressed because we were enjoying our only day off? Maybe because we had a chance to get away from the kids and I wanted to treat my 7 week pregnant girlfriend to a place where she always spoke so highly about. To when I first tried it out - I couldn't wait to come back and go for it again. Therefore we didn't want to stay for desserts, we didn't want to stay any longer, and certainly couldn't be more anxious to leave. I always tip due to myself understanding how rude it is not to tip your waiter/waitress. But on this occasion - I refused to tip! And we probably won't be back. Maybe at some point. But not anytime soon.

However, the food was amazing! The food was served very quickly, and 3 members of staff were pleasant and actually smiled. One being the waiter, the waitress who took my PDQ payment, and the waitress my partner thought she knew.

Thank...

But anyway back to the important stuff I ordered a burger and chips my wife got the same had the wee one with us so got her well chicken nuggets n peas what else lol

Without a lie the best burger I had in a while and the chips were amazing I was inhaling them into my mouth that fast they were just so good my wife never finished hers but I scoffed mine down.

The staff are amazing also very attentive and helpful. Never realised this place around the corner from house but if you ever in the area you won't regret popping in for a meal very good...

I have visited The Mint many times and always love it. The atmosphere is great no matter what kind of experience you are looking for. The conservatory at the front is perfect for a nice romantic meal or if you fancy delicious cocktails and a catch up the main bar is ideal. They offer amazing value set menus and the food is always delicious! There is a great choice and even thought it's inexpensive, the food always looks like top restaurant standard. The steak pie is a must! The only one thing I could fault was that on one visit I had the red velvet cheesecake but, even though still delicious, it didn't taste like red velvet at all. It had an overpowering taste of lemon. As I say though, still delicious and I ate every bit!

First visit here today with 25 Colleagues for Lunch. The Mint was Lovely, really nice surroundings and Luxury Furnishings and Decor. Service with a Smile and on point with such a large number of us for Lunch. We ate in the Conservatory which was bright and airy. I Especially Loved the Strawberry Cuddle Mocktails which led to loads more being ordered by my colleagues. The Starters looked Delicious and the Presentation was Great which made the taste buds Tantilise. Feed back on everything that we All ordered was Great every dish looked and Tasted Amazing. Would Definitely Recommend and will Definitely be back. Thanks to All the Staff and Chefs for a Really Pleasant visit

Lovely wee afternoon with my friends, celebrating a belated birthday. Continued in the bar area at a table for drinks after leaving the lunch table, but unfortunately after one drink we were asked to vacate the table, there was no where else available to continue our night together with drinks. Abrupt ending to our evening. No apology. No other area offered to go to!!! A great day ended. Very disappointed in the hospitality!! We had a great day and it was turned into a disappointing day especially for my sister-in-law who's celebration it was.!!!!!
