We visited the Parlour twice whilst we were staying on Arran, and both times were excellent. The first night was an unexpected treat because we arrived expecting pizza and instead found that they were running a pop-up kebab night. The owner told us that this is something they do throughout the winter to mix things up, and that each Thursday, they have a different themed menu. Each Thursday menu is posted on their Facebook page, so if you plan to visit on a Thursday in the winter, you can check in advance to see what they'll be serving (or you can just let it be a tasty surprise like we did accidentally). Once the season starts, they then return to serving their usual pizza menu full time.
We thought this was a fantastic idea, and only wished we were staying on Arran long enough to sample the other themed nights (Mexican street food sounded especially tempting). The kebabs were absolutely delicious, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very busy (and I can see why), but the staff still made some space for us to sit in, which we really appreciated.
Of course, we then had to return to sample the pizza menu, and this time we called ahead to book a table. The other reviews don't lie, the pizza is fantastic, and the homemade dips are to die for. We especially recommend the black garlic and the chipotle dips. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to visitors and residents alike (though I'm sure residents are already well aware of...
Read moreWe’ve been on the Isle of Arran for two days. We’ve lucked in because the weathers epic. The suns shinning and there’s not a cloud in the sky.
Today we drove around the Island Walking on the beach and enjoying being in nature a quick search for pizza and we found the Parlour in Brodick serving fresh pizza and Ice cream.
The place was queued up outside for 5pm opening (they close 4-5) once we got in we were quickly seated in a comfy leather booth and served by Mike one of the co-owners.
Checking the menu and the different styles of pizzas offered I had a feeling they were going to be good. 10 inch fresh rolled sourdough bases and lots of options.
As we sat waiting for our pizzas to arrive I enjoyed looking at the artwork on the walls some really brilliant funky pieces to enjoy, Also a custom made meat airer that looks real but isn’t.
Our food arrived and we were not disappointed. Some of the best sourdough pizza I’ve eaten and I’ve tried a lot. Even the dips for our crusts tasted great.
Fresh Arran ice cream to top our meal off and double nugget with Arran gold and tablet for me …. Always reminds me of being at my grannies when I eat a double nugget brings back happy childhood memories.
Pizza and ice cream is a favourite combo of ours but not everyone does it right.
These guys do gorgeous food made with passion and the best ingredients and tasty ice cream in a friendly funky wee pizzeria parlour.
Highly recommend 5*...
Read moreWe don't like leaving a bad review but after seeing the overwhelmingly great reviews on this place, we thought we had to put in our two pence and say we cannot phantom why this place is rated highly. We thought the staff were rude. We walked in on a Saturday night and smiled and said hello to the guys running the place. Got nothing back, no welcome or acknowledgment. Looking like headless chickens, no one bothered to say "we will be with you in one minute", or " here is a menu". Although I recognise staff were busy, it takes all of three seconds to lift your head up and tell us what the deal is, rather than ignoring us. What further annoyed us was they let us mull over the menu before telling us there was an hour and a half wait. Why would you not tell us this in the first instance??? Pizzas - awful. After an hour and a half wait. We got something that was just above a kebab shop quality pizza. This is the second time I have been to this establishment and although the first time was also awful, back in 2022, I thought they may have been having a bad day and there would be no harm trying again. But no, I was wrong. I get this is probably the only pizza shop on Arran and so the quality doesn't have to be good for customers to come, but the quality is in the drain. Greasy pizza, leaving us lethargic and...
