I stopped to get chips and asked if they had fritters the young guy said only 1 small one so I took it plus a roll total cost £3.70 so I asked for a breakdown and he said 70p for the fritter I said surely not for that small one then a man I assume to be the owner started shouting about the size of potatoes the cost of gas and staff wages then he put another fritter into a bag I said I did not want it I just felt 70p was a rip off for s fritter that was 4 x 2 0.2 inches he then threw the fritter and bag out of the door and the seagulls got it I certainly won't be back and have sympathy for the poor two students who have to work with him In my opinion he definitely has anger issues

Friday night is... Chippy tea night. Tonight.. The Victor! I got fish supper (even though I didn't ask for one) with a couple fritters and mushy peas. And the boyf got a steak pie and couple fritters. No picture though, as he had scoffed his by time mine was camera ready haha. Everything was fresh, the chips were cooked to perfection. The only complaint I have is the mushy peas. Would've been better with a wee bit salt and vinegar in them. But apart from that everything was really good. Victor is my go to chippy. So much better than The Silvery Tay

Hi, i'm very angry with what you did today, so I didn't mention this in the store, I'm here to let more people know what you did. Hope this can provide a change.

Today, I ordered a fish supper at about 21:30. You let me wait a few minutes. That's fine, because normally you need time to fry the fish. One or two minutes later than I ordered my supper, a lady came in and ordered some chips. You directly provided to her. This fine, because she only needs chips.

However, a long enough time later, (it is long enough for you to fry a fish), you packaged my meal, with the chips you already have, and a fish which already lay in the heated display cabinet before I visit you! Why you ask me to wait this long time just for this? It is acceptable if you provided me with this unfresh fish and unfresh chips immediately as what you always do during the night. And it supposed to be like that asked me wait a few minutes to fry a fish for me. But why? Why ask me to wait a longer time to have what I could have without waiting?

Because you just get a order online? Or other reasons make you find you need to use this unfresh fish to me? Since 2020, every time when I need a fish supper, I come to your shop. Every time I order fish supper with Tartar sauce. Because I was thinking you are better than a large amount of famous fish&chips shop who win gold or silver prize. You had their level of quality and have a better control than them. But, look what you did today!

Every one should know this. I don't care one fish supper, I care with all the fish supper I will get from you in the future.

Well, if you think you two keep doing cleaning and thinking about working shift then put the chips in box after she said she just needs some chips and and paid after she got the chips is she ordered online and you had already packed her chips.

No body is idiot. I know when you put fish in the fryer and when you add a basket chips to the fryer. The weakness of a open kitchen is your customer can directly see what are you doing.

You this altitude is awful. You're trying to fool customers by making them look...

been going for a while now but since the costs have went up theres been smaller portions for example the sausage supper is just a kids sausage and a half but other than rhe smaller portions everyone is freinds and its a great time in general (little edit) i went through some of the other reviews here and im not gonna lie the owner seems like a jerk most of his replys are "iv been doing this for 40 years. thats your opinion." and all in all being a jerk to the customers that dont like what he does which is just pure arrogance if theres an issue with food or bagging or anything try and work it out without insulting a customer i worked in a restaurant for some time at the weavers mill and from my experience the entire point of opening a food shop or a restaurant or a takeaway is to connect with customers and give them a good time from what iv seen and heard while at the fish bar it was a fairly okay time but reviews and responses from the owner say otherwise would reccomend the chippers on the arbroath road its less than half the prices over that way and the people who run it are super...

I’ve lived opposite the victor fish bar for a while now and always visit this chippy with my friends. The majority of the staff are absolutely lovely and do their jobs extremely efficiently. However a particular member of staff is always extremely slow at their job, doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing, and gets the order wrong time after time even after double checking. The food from the Victor is always fresh and good however, this one member of staff always makes me apprehensive on if I should visit or not. I do not mind waiting for my food at all, especially if it is being made to order, however I would appreciate if wait times could be more accurate and not be told “it’ll be done in 10” to come back 10 minutes later and then still have to wait in the shop for...
