The food was absolutely delicious. The service was awkward and uncomfortable due to a strange issue with the server. Typically when I dine alone, I try to be low maintenance and figure out my order when I walk in the door, so the server doesn’t have to waste time revisiting my table. This was meant as a thoughtful and helpful gesture. The server however seemed to think of this as being “impatient” and made some negative judgments about me. She was then extremely cold and rude to me for the remainder of our interactions, without even looking me in the eye, while being very chatty and friendly with every other table in the small restaurant. She even went so far as to make an apparently passive aggressive comment about me to the adjacent table. All of this made me feel extremely self conscious and uncomfortable. And it was all seemingly because of one clumsy offhand comment that was misinterpreted and judged harshly. Annoying and needlessly negative interaction. But the food and the kitchen staff greatly outshined...

This is really more of a busy gas station with this cafe attached .

Met by an unsmiling staff member who gave just the choice of two tables near the door even though there were open tables near the window of which only one was occupied. Another couple came in a few minutes after we ordered and was also given a table near the door. By then all tables near the windows and outside were unoccupied the rest of our meal. The tables near the door were noisy as gas station patrons flowed in and out to use the restroom in the cafe. the hard slamming door added to the lack of ambiance.

Food quality was poor and overpriced. The "main" Caesar salad was a few pieces of greens with too many stale crouton, some shredded cheese and too many anchovies. The soup of the day- carrot lacked flavor and again a small portion.

Would NOT...

Great wee place. Very suitable for those on a walking holiday as parking is limited. Fantastic choice on the menu, which is supplemented by a ‘specials’ board which again, has a surprising number of options. There is inside and outside seating (weather dependent!) There are snack and ‘main meal’ options. Prices are fair, in my opinion. If there is a rush of customers, then the table service, understandably, can be a bit slow - but definitely worth the wait. The food presentation is very attractive and everything appears very fresh. This is our second visit and it will be a regular stop on subsequent visits to Skye. Staff are kind and helpful and friendly. As a couple, we were delighted...

A really lovely experience. We chanced on this place by the petrol station - don't be deceived by the looks. The food is great, a good selection and delicious. The seafood chowder was as good as any we've had. Our dog was warmly welcomed and fussed over. We had glorious sunshine and views across the water. A pint of Skye Black went down well. Really friendly people too!

Intended to eat at other restaurant but saw it while refueling, so decided to give it a chance. Food was unexpectedly delicious! The lady for sure knows home cooking really well. Dish served doesn’t look super fancy or difficult, but delicious as simple as it is or should be! Even boiled potatoes are very tasty. I finished all the food with nothing left at all.
