Nice food, good prices let down by abysmal customer service. Staff too chatty when it's busy, and some are just downright rude and clearly in the wrong job (if it's an inconvenience to you to sell filled rolls, why take a job in a filled roll shop?) used to shop here lots, the terrible attitude from some of the staff drove me away, why would I pay good money to get treated with contempt when my wife does it for free? Cheap but cheerless. Also, the practice of licking their fingers to snatch up the cellophane cake wrappers is just downright manky. It's a shame for the bakers because their produce is actually very good...

I’ve been buying from Wellbread for a number of years and always liked it. However I recently enquired about a birthday cake for my daughter’s birthday with a photograph on it. I’ve bought these cakes before so I was aware I’d need to send the photo to an email address. The women behind the counter couldn’t have been less helpful. She was rude and tutted when I asked which sizes the cakes came in. Apparently she didn’t know the email address to send the photo to and neither did any other members of staff (she made no effort to ask them). This is a proper traditional scottish bakers with hot and cold filled rolls made fresh to order. The breakfast baps are straight out of the oven, as are the in house tattie scones. Although the baked goods range isn't massive, the size and quality is outstanding and great value for money. All of the staff inside were working away doing various jobs but they still could greet you or say cheerio on the way out. A real treasure and a must...
