I visited with five cycling friends on a Sunday as the cafe one of the group chose was closed. Inside the Remedy looked very pleasant and was fairly busy. As we were six wet cyclists, we chose to sit outside. The staff gave us some paper towels to wipe the tables and chairs down as they were very wet. Within a couple of minutes, we were given some menus, and the waitress took our orders. I ordered a 10oz white americano (£3.60) and a handmade buttered toasted teacake (£3.80). The coffee was very nice. I am a huge fan of teacakes and have tried many different makes. I am sad to say that this one was not worth £3.80. It was a little on the small side for that price. Considering it was handmade, my favourite ones I buy at the moment (Sheldons) are far better. If the menu hadn't said the teacakes were handmade, I would have guessed they had been bought from a supermarket. Some of my friends ordered a slice of thick buttered toast (£1.80). If you add Jam, the price jumped to £2.75. Although the toast was thick and very nice, £0.95p for jam in our opinion is very expensive and not value for money. I had cause to use the bathroom before continuing with our ride back to the Wigan area. The bathroom was in a very clean and tidy condition. The service was fairly quick and the staff were very friendly. For cyclists: if you sit inside, there is no secure place to leave your bike or keep it within view. We parked our bikes where their bins are kept, next to the outside seating area.
