I have been visiting Knole Park, since I was a child with my father and family, so I was very pleased to see on your website that you accommodate funeral receptions. I was hoping to host my father’s funeral reception here, as he had many fond memories of Knole Park.
When my mother and brother visited the venue, they were shown the available spaces and told by a staff member that it would be possible to book the reception, and were even given key dates in January for availability.
However, when my mother called this morning to proceed with the booking, she was suddenly told by a male staff member that this would not be possible, due to a lack of staff (seems more like an excuse). Far too often I am told to "keep off" the golf course by misinformed elderly men, who think I need to take a different route or wait for them to play so they don't have to pay attention to their surroundings. These rights of way date back hundreds of years, and if you hit someone who is walking on them because you didn't pay attention - well it is your assault charge so...
