The worst takeaway I have ever had.
We have eaten in at Namaste in the past and it was nice but on Saturday I received the worst indian takeaway ever. The tandoori chicken was nicely charred on the outside but was still raw when I got closer to the bone. The chicken tikka and the lamb tikka was so dry it was inedible. The colour and flavour of all of the meat was anaemic and just tasted of lots of pepper. I phoned to compain as we were going to throw the meal in the bin (and we did) it was so bad and frankly possibly dangerous given the raw chicken. I explained that I wasn't after a refund as I had received what I had ordered for ÂŁ33-10, and merely wanted my feedback to go back to the chef as it was that bad, they really need to re-visit how to cook. I was told to ask for 'M' the next time I order and that he will see me alright, but this isn't really the point. The salad was also clearly not fresh with the lettuce showing yellowing, and when I thought about it, we placed our order at 4pm over the internet. The restaurant opens at 5pm and we were surprised that the food arrived at our door at 5-10pm. I'll leave you to work out how the food was prepared so quickly and how some of it was very dry. In their defence the rice, naan bread and poppadums were all nice and the prawn puri was passable, it's just the meat dishes were either very dry or raw in the middle. Sadly we won't be ordering from...
Read moreVery disappointed with our recent visit to Namaste. Left feeling cheated. Ali, who served us, tried to overcharge us on the bill and misled us about the offer menu. We were never offered the scoop of ice cream included in the promotion, but instead were given the full dessert menu. This made no sense, as our entire table had requested the offer at the start of the evening. When we raised the issue, rather than resolving it honestly, our server Ali misrepresented the situation to the manager, Vikram. Unfortunately, the manager did not handle it well either. It felt like a deliberate attempt to upsell customers into spending more. Despite asking three times, Vikram only came to our table much later, by which point it was clear they were trying to push us to simply pay the bill rather than address the issue properly. Normally, if something is not included in an offer, you would expect to be advised in advance. Most importantly, the scoop of ice cream was never offered at all. If the offer included dessert, why hand us the dessert menu instead? We came expecting a pleasant evening out, but left feeling frustrated and let down. Not recommended. Since management changed this...
Read moreThis is a one of a kind restraunt, you have the main bar which sells a verity of alcoholic and soft drinks, you have the amazing Indian food and then down stairs in the basement you have the one of a kind cocktail bar which you can visit before or after your meal. The atmosphere down there is astonishing when there is a dj on and the drinks are rolling there is not a better place to be. The staff are the best part to the place there friendly to all ages and know how to make the little ones smile and laugh. But the best part is the top quality food that is made in the well equipped kitchen. This is no food around this area which beats this quality of food. All in all...
