My family and I dined out at The Clove Indian Restaurant in Swanley recently after being recommended to go there by some friends. We found the decor, atmosphere but more importantly the food and service to be of an excellent standard. I particularly enjoyed my mushroom and garlic puree starter followed by The Clove duck - a main course of slices of duck with a thick sweet sauce flavoured with mango. It was spicy but not over powering. The pilau rice served with it was excellent too and was included in the price of the dish. Every thing was very well presented and flavourful. The rest of my family each tried out a different dish and side which they also thoroughly enjoyed. The manager of the restaurant and his team of waiters were all very professional and smartly dressed but also really friendly and very knowledgable about all the dishes being served. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The service was precise and efficient with everything cooked to order and customers not having to wait too long for their food to arrive. The team of chefs in the kitchen must be superhero’s and very well organised to be able to serve up their dishes on time, cooked and spiced to perfection, adjusted to meet each customer’s requirement. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to eat authentic well priced indian food in a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. Just wish I lived nearer so I could visit...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant this evening for our annual Christmas celebrations. Let me start, by emphasising that the food was amazing. We give our credits to the chef. However, when my friend booked the table for the evening, the waiter on the phone appeared rude. This was not a good start.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we felt quite rushed with ordering our food. Towards the end of the meal we payed promptly but decided to stay for a little longer. When I ordered a final alcoholic drink, I was informed by the waiter that when I finished this drink, we needed to leave the restaurant. I have not ever been asked to vocate a restaurant before!
Now I understand that the table may have been required for another party but we had pre-booked this table & the restaurant were still accepting our payment re - I had ordered an alcholic beverage. But to be told that we could no longer sit at the pre-booked table was unacceptable & frankly very rude. I myself will not be returning & I'm sure the other ladies would agree.
It is such a shame as the food...
