We had dinner at this Sevenoaks branch this evening, greeted very well by Jo at the door. He was very professional, polite, helpful and efficient.
We were 6 people, who ordered meal. Due to some confusion, while other food arrived, mashed potato did not arrive. We thought it might be taking some extra time but when it did not arrive at all, my daughter said to leave it otherwise it will be late for us.
When we mentioned it to a waitress that mashed potato did not arrive, so can we get refund please. Another waitress (name Laura )came and started challenging us, that she is very sure that she brought it on our table. As per our order, we should have had 6 large plates and 11 small plates, but there were only 6 small and 10 small plates. She said she is not sure why there were only 10 small plates, but she has definitely brought it.
There was another waitress who served food to our table, but Laura kept saying she only served food to us. She will refund money but she definitely brought food to our table.
When we ordered food, by mistake they brought some food to our table, but when we said we have not ordered this, they took it back. They gave that food to our next table as it belonged to that table. So, she perhaps got mixed up with our table.
We all can make mistake. But we all were horrified that she was blaming us, as if we were lying for a bowl of mashed potato. Also, she was not listening to us. We go to so many restaurants but never had similar experience. People are usually very respectful. It was my daughter's birthday today and she especially wanted meal at Nando's as likes Nando's, but it spoiled her experience.
Lura left our table that she will see and refund for mashed potato but she is confused about it. We kept waiting for 20 minutes, but Laura did not come back to tell us that money has been refunded. We finally had to ask Jo (who was again so professional), who went to check and came back to inform us that money for mashed potato has been refunded.
I would definitely have given 5 star review about Jo's service and help, but it was very unacceptable behaviour by Laura. I am worried that she might be treating other customers very badly, hence writing this review. She definitely needs some training how to behave with customers. She spent approx £92 for our meal and would not have lied for £4. In spite of seeing that there was no plate of mashed potato on our table and pointing out that she might have got mixed up with next table, she was not ready to listen.....

Read moreat times in the past I have been stuck in the routine of religiously visiting and Nando’s twice a week, these days not so much but believe me I have eaten thousands of Nando’s over the years. It’s widely understood among my group of friends that sevenoaks and Aylsford, are the top locations in our vicinity. Never seem to get a bad Nando’s either of these locations.
Today I visited sevenoaks At 3 pm so it was quiet. I was greeted by Eden to inform me that my meal of choice might take longer than usual (no problem). After ordering my food and waiting 15 minutes a member of staff approached me apologising about the delay and offered me a free side. I accepted (garlic bread). Now I Love my food. Possibly too much. So forgive me for being passionate when I say my meal today was categorically the best Nando’s I’ve ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection and the friendly and warm staff play this experience absolutely flawless. 11/10 having worked in the industry I know chefs/waiters/waitresses are often moaned at and have to endure multiple complaints whether true or false. Read moreSo whilst waiting for our takeaway chicken I asked one of the members of staff if my 4 year old son could have one jelly bean out of a half full jar sitting on the counter next to the register. We didn't expect the response we were given, firstly the young gent who we asked said he would need to ask his manager, I thought this was odd as they were clearly there for kids of people waiting in the takeaway area. Then the manager came over in a very defensive manner snatched the jar, which was open from the counter and said "no, these are for a raffle" in an unconvincing but passive aggressive tone and put them under the counter, then walked back to the main part of the restaurant. I found that the staff were all very young and inexperienced at customer service which makes for a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the type of service. There certainly doesn't appear to be any training for service. We have been there to eat before, we are not likely to go back.
