FIRST TIME - LAST TIME we were going to go because we'd been recommended by family members who say they've been a number of times and had good food and good service on all their visits. But as soon as we mentioned that one of us has a peanut allergy they became uncooperative and said all the food had peanuts in because it forms part of a 'gravy' that is used in every dish. Quite honestly we didn't believe them. They just didn't want to serve us. I know restaurants need to be careful but EVERYWHERE else we've eaten - including Indian restaurants and take aways - we've been helped by the staff to chose a safe and enjoyable selection that the whole family has enjoyed. We ended up at an Indian place we've been to before where we did get the help, cooperation and assistance we have had EVERYWHERE else and had been expecting here. Just been to the cardamom, asked for popadoms and then when brought out they came with some dips which were not mentioned in the menu, and also some chips which we did not ask for. Thinking that the popadoms were 70p each as stated in the menu 2 came up to £4.60! When we questioned about this they just said oh yeah that’s the right price. £4.60 for two popadoms!! And then they so kindly added on the bowl of chips to the cheque which we didn’t even ask for ever which came up to an rediculous amount as well. Such a shame because the food itself was nice and we really enjoyed it up til then. So ordered a takeaway from here tonight to kick my birthday weekend off!! The food was brilliant so delicious and tasty very high quality we ordered poppadoms, a chicken tikka balti, pilau rice and a peshwari naan which was just enough for us, the food is a little bit more pricier compared to your average Indian takeaway/restaurant but you do certainly get what you pay for and I am more than happy to pay the price for quality food as opposed to paying the price and getting ripped off for shite food 😃 The guy on the telephone was very friendly.
