Come a Casa — Restaurant in Sheffield

TL:DR Version - Highly recommended restaurant, coeliac/allergy friendly, beautiful food!

I placed an order with Come A Casa for my family and I during the Covid19 pandemic (in July after restrictions had been relaxed slightly) and couldn't be happier with the service, the meals, everything!

My sister in law is coeliac, and other members of my family have other dietary requirements which required alterations from the menu. Come A Casa were very accommodating with all our dietary needs and were incredibly helpful when i was asking questions about their menu. When I arrived at the restaurant to collect the order, there was a sanitising station outside the door, the restaurant itself was well set up complying with government guidelines regarding Covid19 and all staff were wearing appropriate PPE. A very attentive member of the waiting staff greeted me at the door and remained the appropriate distance away. I gave them my name and they promptly brought a list showing my order to confirm that everything was correct and the (very reasonable) price. I paid and received the order and left after a swift transaction.

The meals were fantastic, well packaged and the contents were labelled to ensure the people with dietary requirements had the correct meals. Everyone was highly complimentary and those with allergies had no adverse effects - so no concerns regarding cross-contamination!

Not good value. Very disappointed. Had a meal for our 37th wedding anniversary tonight. Starters were very nice. Waited a while for main course. Plates not attractive. I had a chicken in cheese sauce. No accompanying vegetables or anything else on the plate. 4 potato pieces in a little tub is all that came with it. Tasted ok but not appetising. My husband's meal much worse. A huge platter with a small lamb shank and a lot of tasteless sauce. This was served with some horrible gloopy mashed potatoes. Had to give him my potatoes as his food was so sparse. All for £20. So not worth it. Service appalling. Almost non existent. Cannot honestly recommend this restaurant. Been looking forward to going since we moved here....

Average at best! Tagliatelle came & looked like it had been kept warm for an hour, which is about how long it took to come. Overcooked mussels & overcooked venison. When we complained we were constantly told 'but we're busy & have a big party upstairs.' Totally unprofessional of the staff to repeatedly call one of our party 'darling' when we questioned the quality of food & service. After the table was cleared another member of staff came. We showed her a photo of the vegetables served as a side order & told her we would put the picture on Google reviews. Her reply was 'oh no, please don't do that'.
