Cross Scythes, Derbyshire Lane — Restaurant in Sheffield

I was looking for a venue to hold my late fathers wake. The Cross Scythes was recommended. However, despite ringing them for days on end, both out of and during opening hours, not once was the phone picked up. I also emailed them, contacted them via their website and also via all available social media platforms, again- not a single reply was received. I like Thornbridge and I like what they're trying to do with their pubs in Sheffield. This isn't their first large pub (The Greystones is equally cavernous) but for some reason, it has the least cohesive identity across its 4 rooms. There isn't really anything wrong here, but the energy hovers somewhere between 'local pub' and 'social club', not quite managing to reconcile the two.
