Dos Amigos — Restaurant in Sheffield

Ate here last night and it was gorgeous. I had the mushrooms in garlic and lemon sauce which was beautifully balanced with flavour, as was the creamy verdura pasta main. My partner had the breaded jalapenos and veggie calzone, which was a generous amount of beautifully baked dough with tonnes of flavour. The house wine was a litre of trebbiano for £15 (amazing value for money). For dessert I had the Tiramisu served in a cappuccino mug, so plenty of it, and my partner had the Bailey's cheesecake, which he kept trying to make me try, but I told him I'd like to have it for myself the next time we visit. Amazing value for money not only in portion sizes but for quality as well, and mustn't forget the lovely staff, who were so welcoming and attentive. New Year’s Eve meal. Our first time here. Started off really well, waiting staff very efficient, drinks orders taken quickly. They do a good margarita. Our meal order was taken & we both had the garlic prawns to start which were lovely. Then all the lights went out! Not sure what the problem was but Dominoes was in darkness as well. A few diners got their food but we were told very apologetically that our food couldn’t be cooked as it might take up to 3 hours for the problem to be fixed. We decided to pay up for what we’d had and find a chippy. We were brought complimentary limoncello shots & the staff apologised for the inconvenience but these things just happen. Absolutely delicious, authentic Italian food. We came here for a birthday and I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never heard of the restaurant before. I pre-checked the menu online and there are a fantastic selection of dishes, literally something for everyone but not too many that they lose sight and focus on the quality. I had the nachos starter to share, the chili was beautiful and I wish they did that as a main. For my main I had a carbonara which tasted just like one I enjoyed in Rome last year. I went in with no expectations and came out thoroughly satisfied and making plans to return with my family. This really is a great find and very reasonably priced which makes it even better.
