Park is a 5* rating. Beautiful well maintained park with a play area for kiddies. Tennis courts also available.
Sadly the garden although beautiful is a no go area for families. Volunteers are vile and bully children. It is well over a year since we visited and my daughter who was a very enthusiastic gardener has never touched her veg plot since the abuse she recieved from a volunteer there. Hoping that one day she will get her love for gardening back again but it is sad that she is spending so much of her child hood not doing her gardening because of one very nasty lady and a group of volunteers who just watch the nasty behaviour shaking their heads but failing to do anything about it.
Since our experience we have spoken to a good number of other families who have experienced the same poor treatment and abusive talk to their children. Management are not bothered as those volunteers 'do alot of good work...
Read moreHave sometimes travelled to Meersbrook Park for the last 7 years while visiting Sheffield and I can say that its quite a beautiful park with scenic views towards the city centre and surrounding hills from the top, even though some of the hill slopes in which the park lies upon can be a bit steep, while there are some sports facilities like tennis courts towards the bottom of the park. Not to mention most of the time I go there, it is relatively quiet and peaceful without too many people, so it definitely makes for a somewhat quiet spot to sit & view the city. My only issue with this park, although very minor, is the lack of a cafe considering it is quite a big park but apart from that, it definitely is one of my favourite parks...
Read moreI have had many experiences of Meersbrook Park at all hours of the day & night in various states of sobriety and inebriety. It’s got a great view of Sheffield and the foxes come out to play at night. There’s a kids playground, tennis/basketball courts and possibly the most dangerous sledging hill in the UK. And benches so you can enjoy the view. Quite often in the summer evenings, you’ll find pleasant young people listening to reggae music and smoking...
