As a takeaway customer, absolutely appalling service. The first problem, which is not this particular restaurants fault, was that our online order experienced technical faults for all 3 of our attempts. So then upon calling the restaurant we had to order to collect (do not take delivery orders over the phone... again not this particular restaurants fault but we did make them aware of this twice over the phone. We rang twice and the first time the staff took our number so that a manager could ring back in regards to our online order. After 20 minutes we'd not been called back, so rang again and placed a collection order. I arrived perfectly on time, was offered a 20% discount for the problems we'd had, and so I paid. On my receipt it stated my order was to be collected at 7.20 pm. However at 7.50 I was still waiting. Upon asking what was taking so long, I was told it was because the restaurant had "ran out of burgers... did no-one tell you?" Nope. And we didn't order a burger anyway so not sure why that left me waiting so long. I received my order FORTY minutes after the stated collection time. And it was barely warm when I got home 2 minutes later (live very very close to the restaurant). Given that the staff here knew I'd had problems with ordering online, I felt completely mugged off. I will not be ordering to deliver or collect from here again. 1. Nandos have seriously got to consider paying for an existing external delivery system for a start, such as Deliveroo or Uber Eats, as theirs is clearly buggy after several months being implemented. 2. Until such a time, if you want to eat Nandos here at this particular branch, either eat in or just don't bother. Get some fresh chicken and Nandos sauce from Tesco just down the road and cook it yourself, it'll be faster and will...
Read moreI admit it; I could not WAIT to get to a Nandos. This one, on Ecclesall, is larger than I'd expected, but just as friendly - and just as good. Yes, it's technically fast food (the people with me had been avoiding it for months because of that), yes, there are problems with the "red tractor" (humanely raised) designation in the U.K. right now. All that being said, I have yet to visit a Nando's anywhere in the UK where the service isn't friendly, the food isn't hot, and the sauces aren't delicious. Their garlic piri piri is so good that years ago (before I could buy it in the States or on line), I would pack half a dozen bottles in my suitcase and give them as holiday gifts to my colleagues. It's lovely that they've added a few different salad-type vegetable dishes, particularly for the one of us with an allergy to egg (which means no cole slaw). My friends had the look of people expecting a McDonald's or Burger King moment when they first bit into their chicken; I really enjoyed the looks of astonishment on their faces. Chicken breasts, wings, all of it was great. Don't miss the sweet potato fries. And for goodness sake, use the...
Read moreFood is fine, price is high for the quantity and quality. Staff attitude was terrible this visit to only collect a takeaway if pre-ordered and prepaid. 2 people in the queue behind elected to leave the premises then continue to wait in an ever increasing length queue. 1 person on the till taking orders I can only assume was a method to control the demand on the kitchen, but would think in the company interest to get people's orders taken and paid for, than what appeared to be the duty manager delivering a glass of wine to a table and two empty tills doing nothing. The person on the till had No answer and chose to ignore me when I challenged why after being made to wait over 10 minutes in a queue just to confirm I was there to pick up a takeaway and then being told it will be a further 10 Minutes. When the assumed duty manager intervened I thought I'd let her know that the 2 people behind me had walked out due to the wait but was met with disdain for even attempting to point out they might want to to address the...
