My husband and I had been wanting to try Six and a half for a long time. Most of the times we attempted to book a table, it was fully booked — which had only increased our curiosity. However, after finally dining there tonight, I felt it might be exaggerated.
First, I’d like to acknowledge the excellent service provided by the ladies working there — they were polite and attentive throughout. That said, I cannot overlook how disappointed I was with the kitchen’s organisation.
We ordered two starters and four sharers, as recommended. However, after receiving the first starter, our sharers began to arrive, followed shortly by the second starter. While this wasn’t ideal, it wasn't a major issue. What truly affected our experience was that all four hot sharers were served within just a few minutes of each other.
Is this really how your kitchen operates? If you're allowing guests to dine for up to two hours, why rush all the food out in five minutes? It felt like we were being hurried through the meal, which completely disrupted the experience and made the evening feel rushed and underwhelming.
As for the food itself, the portions were quite small, and the quality — especially of the meat — did not meet our expectations. Our total bill came to £158 for two, which would have been fine had the quality and experience matched the price. Unfortunately, it did not.
We're always happy to support local initiatives, but this place needs significant improvements. It had one chance to impress, and sadly, it...

We visited on Saturday evening to take my brother and sister in law who were visiting out for a celebratory meal. The Six and a half team delivered on a very special evening. The serving team were exceptional - very friendly and helpful with just the right balance of attentiveness. From the complimentary sparkling water for the table and the delicate flavoured cava served in coupe glasses to the knock your socks off white choc and raspberry cheesecake for dessert it was an outstanding evening. We had x2 small plates (chicken teriyaki and the flatbreads with the best humous ever tasted), then x6 share plates including some perfectly cooked hassle back potatoes as a side. These were all a wonderful taste sensation with the stand out being the char sui pork belly which we all agreed we could’ve had again and again. If you went a little more hungry or didn’t want dessert then a couple more of the sharing plates may be advisable. The atmosphere was perfectly pitched and it’s really nice to be able to see in to the workings of the small but perfectly formed open kitchen. Thank you again Six and...
Read moreWhat an absolutely wonderful dinner! The entire family was truly blown away—not just by the exceptional quality of the food but also by the warmth and attentiveness of the service. Our youngest son walked out beaming, saying, "That was even better than at home!"
The staff went above and beyond to make our kids feel welcome, taking such genuine care of them and doing their best to fulfill every little wish. The menu was a delight, and we especially loved the shared plates concept, which made the experience feel even more special.
But it wasn’t just the food—the drinks, including the beautifully crafted mocktails, were prepared and served with so much love. Every detail, from the flavors to the presentation, made this an evening to remember. Thank you for such a heartfelt and memorable experience!
The service was outstanding, and the quality-to-price ratio was absolutely justified—every penny well spent. If this restaurant offered season tickets, we’d buy five without hesitation!...
