No covid measures whatsoever. No masks, no social distancing, no ventilation. Not going back unless that changes.
Edit (Google Reviews would not let me respond to Terri's post so editing mine instead):
Hi Terri,
Thank you for your speedy response. Pre-covid I have been a big fan of the Lescar and have been going to the pub for over ten years. However, your response worries me as I believe it shows little understanding of Covid, how it is transmitted, and how to protect your staff and customers from catching the virus (and potentially having to close the business due to staff shortages).
The ventilation offered by opening the doors is not sufficient for preventing transmission. Windows need to be open wherever possible. Covid is an airborne virus and so social distancing is also key with sufficient distances between tables and limits on the numbers of people in unventilated spaces at any one time (eg toilets).
Masks also are key to preventing spread and the signage you have is really not very visible at all. Whilst masks are not a legal requirement you will always have customers who refuse to wear them, but the culture of consideration you create on the premises has a massive effect on the likelihood of people catching and spreading the virus (including to your staff). Prominent signs are key.
Personally, I'd also recommend you considering using screens on the bar to protect your staff too.
Unfortunately for your business, there are many pubs locally who have the above measures still in place and which are far safer venues as a result, meaning that, without those measures in place, I just won't be returning to see you anytime soon.

Read moreIm from sheffield and have now been living in London for sometime in west hampstead, and what we paid in that pub is what we would expect to pay here in Hampstead. I think its over priced here in West Hampstead and this is london, youbexpect to habe your pants pulled down, so i dont know where the lescar think they are but i think they might be confused on their postal code. Ibwas shocked at the lescars latest prices i couldnt believe it, it was exactly, not a penny cheaper than london, there were even some drink, some gins and wines that were even more expensive than here in one of the most affluent areas of the capitol. Being a Sheffielder i was a quite taken back, disgusted even that they were getting away with charging local people on local wages that kind of money. Its just another pub as far I'm concerned nothing special about it, its pleasent enough, but not pleasent enough for that kind of money for a gin and tonic and a pint, it was rediculous, it was like I'd not left London, inwas dissapointed. I would expect tobpay that inna top end bar in London. 14 pound for two drinks, in sheffield.... What has happened to my...
Read moreUnfriendly surly bar staff. They seem to dislike young people, i.e. under 30s. Wouldn't let my 26 year old daughter in, even for a soft drink. The owner justifies this by saying they "have a strict 'Challenge 25' policy which means ... bar staff are required to ask for proof of age from anyone that they believe looks under 25, regardless of whether they are wishing purchase alcohol or not." Well, I'm sorry but that is a stupid policy if the staff are unable to exercise any common sense. They might mistake a 26 year old for being a few years younger - but under 18? Ridiculous. The woman behind the bar would have to be completely daft to think my daughter, accompanied by two people in their mid-50s, was a teenager trying to sneak a drink. When I am faced with someone blindly following a rule without understanding its purpose, I conclude that this is not a pleasant environment. Especially when I have driven 50 minutes each way for the sole purpose of hearing a jazz band playing at this pub. It still makes me furious to remember...
