Taj Indian Takeaway — Restaurant in Sheffield

Have been using this take away for a while, food has always been good. Ordered online, delivery was at appointed time. After eating starter, realised that our rice was missing. Rang immediately and they said they would send it straight out. We live 5 minutes from restaurant. 30 minutes later it still wasn't with us. We rang again and were told that it was on route, they were short of drivers. We said we didn't want the rice now and requested a refund. Instead of offering some sort of partial refund/goodwill they requested we send the whole order back and hung up the phone???? What kind of customer service is that. The rice arrived 40 minutes later, we turned it away. Sadly that's it for us now with this take out. Can't understand why establishments can't acknowledge a mistake and resolve without discussion and difficulty, basic...

Food always excellent but service this evening has been appalling. Delivery was not complete, I called and was told that driver would come straight back out with remainder. I called again after waiting 35 minutes (we are only 5 mins drive away) to be given weak excuses. I stated that I no longer wanted either the missing or the food that we had, as this had gone cold, was inedible and filling the house with a smell of food that was no good. Was advised to give back food to driver when he arrived and refund would be given! No way, the food went in the bin, we've gone hungry and won"t be using Taj again. It"s a shame, food has always been good but they really need to work on...

I love the Taj Indian Takeaway, it was very excellent and the service is very professional and up to high standards in terms of Indian restaurants.

All the staff were friendly and greeted me with a smile and answered all my questions on which food to order and what's the best meal that restaurant has to offer.
