10th June The owners have listened and now the Cheese Fritters are excellent. Just the right size, and enough cheese to distinguish it from a potato fritter. The owners have also indicated that they may introduce a veggie pie too. A veggie/vegan burger would also be welcome.

As usual the chips were fantastic and (according to my eating companion) the sausages were good too.

5th May Just returned. The shop was busy but orders were taken quickly & the environment was friendly.

This time the quality of the food had improved. The chips were plentiful, fish was cooked to order, and my cheese & onion rissole was tasty & cooked to perfection.

Mani & Priti have certainly listened & learned and going to this chippie is certainly a treat I will look forward to.

As of April 2023, this chippy is under new management. Happy retirement to Joanne & Jimmy!

The new owner has taken time to learn the ropes from the previous staff and Chris is still working there alongside Tina.

I was worried that the food wouldn't be as good as Jimmy's, but I found it to be very tasty. The chips were proper potatoes, the sausages were freshly cooked and scraps were given with everything. The Cheese & Onion burger was still available. It was twice the size and not quite as good as Joanne's but getting there. Maybe a little more cheese and a smaller size. Perhaps a vegetable pie could be included in the menu.

This place was a favourite, it’s gone downhill massively since Joanne and Jimmy sold it. There used to be huge queues in all weathers but I don’t see that anymore when I drive past so that tells you all you need to know really. My Fish had a chemical taste to it the last time we went and I don’t know where to begin with the foul mouthed “lady” serving. Portion sizes have shrunk at the same time as prices going up ! Incredibly disappointing, won’t be going back.

In response to your reply - I’m not targeting small businesses, it’s an honest review based on experience. We used to travel 5 miles, Im not about to drive another 10 mile round trip to bring a fish back. Nobody ever queued to pay, that’s a ridiculous excuse, they queued because it was cooked fresh and was worth waiting for. Theres never anybody in now when I drive past! Edited as since it’s been sold to new management it’s downhill . Chips are brown and look burnt and too chunky with some not cooked properly in the middle. Before they were lovely crispy golden and cooked to perfection.making your chips too chunky like door wedges they have no chance to cook inside !!!And portion sizes are pathetic . I’m paying to get a decent portion not small . And why is it 40p extra for large chips ?? Another marketing gimmick .. Old owners gave decent amount of chips for the money .
