DO NOT COME HERE
Wouldnât be surprised if this gets taken down like the other negative reviews. Pub has been ruined since the change in management. Came here with my girlfriend and her housemates, 3 of which were not drinking alcohol. When I went to the bar I was asked how old my friends were (weird enough) and told theyâd have to leave by 9 if they were underage. I told them they were all uni students and over 18. They then they came over at 20:45 and IDâd everyone, one of which didnât have ID. They then asked those without ID to leave. The barmaid then walked off, and another one came over a minute later accusing us of swearing at their colleague - this did not happen. All this combined with ÂŁ6.50 for a pint of Red Stripe that you can get in a corner shop 500 yards away for ÂŁ1.79, wonât be coming back - sad to see one of our sentimental Sheffield spots be ruined by greedy management and incompetent, argumentative staff.
Also, where does it specify that someone who is âallegedlyâ underage canât sit in a pub with someone who youâve already served alcohol to at 8:45pm on a Wednesday? Itâs not even past the watershed.
Iâve saved a copy of this review so if you try and take it down, Iâll just keep on...
Read moreThey took down my review, so I'll write it again... I went in here to get a round of drinks. It included mixers so wasn't a cheap round. After watching the bartender struggle to pour a half pint for a while, I asked him if it was topped up all the way and got a short response that it was. I looked at it and it didn't look like it was to me, but I also thought it was a bit tight to debate what must be a few pence worth of beer when I'm buying a round of drinks worth over £25. Another bartender then came over and started verbally attacking me saying "oh don't start with that". I was completely non-confrontational and diffused the situation but it went on to put a bit of a dampener on the night. So yeah not a great attitude from a service that you are paying for, and it's not my fault that the guy can't pour a pint! He probably poured away 20 times the amount the quibble was over seconds before! Shame because it's a nice looking pub outside but maybe best appreciated without going in! It's also proving my point that they're a bit underhand that they're taking down negative reviews and only leaving up the...
Read moreI often visit this venue when in the area.
But after seeing the managers dog almost attack another dog in the venue, makes me feel unsafe in the pub as the managers dog was also off lead during this situation where he had to grab it by the collar to get it away from going at another dog.
The manager walked in through the back entrance with his own dog, the other dog owner had their dog on a lead, but the manager didnât. He then very loudly started shouting âNO! no! No!â
Everybody turned around to have a look! This was when he put the dog in a doorway, and re-appeared a few moments later:
When he did appear, he acted like nothing had happened or even apologised to the other dog owner which i saw the owner quite shaken and uncomfortable.
I feel since the current managers take over it has gone down hill quite dramatically in...
