The Queens Ground — Restaurant in Sheffield

On my list of new favourite places! A really memorable place. Just intended as a convenient stop over on a long drive but ended up as a really great end to a tiring day. Brilliant English traditional pub, right opposite Hillsborough football ground, with spotlessly clean no-frills bedrooms. No fuss, let yourself out in the morning arrangement. We parked only feet away, and were greeted by an amazing landlady, a well stocked,UNDER PRICED bar and a terrific end to the day. This is really not our usual type of hotel, we’re the Marriott /Hilton type ( sadly) but I’ll always stop here if driving north to south. May even stay an extra night to soak up the lovely feeling of how pubs / people...

Excellent value for money. We paid £85 for the room with three beds which was an amazing price for three people. And dog friendly! Very happy with the room and very comfortable beds. I only took away a star because of gunk around the shower drain, not enough loo paper (less than one roll) and not convinced the floor was mopped but otherwise it was clean and comfortable. Visited a few evenings on recent trip. Staff and locals are lovely, very laid back vibe and cheaper drinks than city centre. Local amenities around and just 10mins to city centre. If you want to avoid the usual chain pubs you see in every town I'm definitely reccomending jumping on the tram and drink with the locals. I come to Sheffield regularly and will always make sure I fit a few...
