Forteys — Restaurant in South Derbyshire

I visit Fortey’s regularly- What a lovely place to eat and be sociable, the staff (owners) have always been extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. As for the ridiculous review placed by Samaneh Esfandyari - I hope people overlook that - as it is NOT an accurate representation- I was there at the time and she has clearly forgotten that the staff looked after the elderly gentleman whilst she parked her car ( that surely was helpful ??), he was quite capable of going up the stairs with help and as for Service charge - there is no service charge !! We all have to pay VAT for services provided!! I would recommend she go back to London and sit in a crammed / smog ridden and expensive cafe if that’s what she’s used to - quite the opposite of Fortey’s...

I come to U.K. quite frequently & this is one of the first places I always visit. The proprietors know me and are always friendly, know my regular Americana drink. The desserts are wonderful & the attention to service is always 1st class!! There’s always a table available. Be sure to take home some of the candies as they are special too!

Toilets upstairs, at least you have to go up more than 10 staires. It is not suitable for the disabled person. When you ask some questions the way they answer the tone is rude, you can't continue. Food is so expensive to eat there. They add more than 20% on every item even on tea and coffee. When I asked they said you pay taxes and our services. Why should we pay taxes to you? Why should we pay service charges? This shop much expensive than coffee...
