My daughter and I recently visited Tea at Three in Melbourne, and what a small gem of a tearoom it is! The shop offers a delightful array of different cakes and pastries, with so many tempting flavours — a real treat for anyone with a sweet tooth.
When we arrived, the “closed” sign had just been put up — but to our surprise, the two young ladies who run this family tea shop were incredibly hospitable and warmly invited us in anyway. Their pleasant manner and welcoming attitude made the experience stand out, and they gave us plenty of time to choose without any rush.
The décor is charming and quaint, adding to the cozy, inviting atmosphere. I was so impressed that I’ve decided to book it for my daughter’s bridal shower — I can’t think of a more perfect, intimate setting for such a special occasion.

Nestled in Potters Courtyard, off Potter Street is this quaint tea room, serving every type of cake, scones and pre booked afternoon tea, teas coffee and hot chocolate. It has a step back in time atmosphere with cakes baked by the owner or her carefully selected bakers that are more works of art and a delight to the eye and tastebuds. There is either a take away service or a small number of tables, if a special occasion then pre booking is essential. In fair weather there is seating outside. You can pre book your favourite cakes and drink and arrange a time to pick up. There is also a loyalty card for drinks. The owner also has an events business. The tea room is open on Fridays, Saturday's and Sundays with parking on the street or in the car park off...

We had biscoff cake which was very nice, tbf, but only as we thought it was the best choice, rather than what we really liked or wanted! Cafe itself is so small that we sat outside so we could talk without everyone listening! You were inches away from strangers inside. It has enough room for only 3 small table really - 6 people, tops! Hot chocolate was very nice, but pot of tea was very weak. Drinks were brought out separately which I found a bit odd. Staff were super friendly, though. We wouldn't visit again though, purely because it's just so cramped and there's no choice of cakes really. £18 for 2 cakes and 2 drinks is rather...
