The Food was atrocious, the smashed avocado on sour dough wasn’t presented on sour dough( although still charged for) which I wasn’t Informed of until after i received the food. When I dared question It I was told ‘no one received sourdough with their orders’ as though that was somehow acceptable.
The scrambled eggs weren’t mixed correctly and were runny and vile. The price of £11 for what I received was insulting. Me and my partner agreed the service was abysmal and the food was somehow worse.
The attitude of the owners was woeful and overall I’d I could rate this 0 stars I would. Foul from start to finish. I demanded a refund which I received. The blasé arrogance of the staff was as confusing as it was disappointing.
The older ladies prepping the food who I believe to be the owners treated myself and others with contempt and utter disdain. The worst attempt at food service I’ve ever experienced.
Mind blowing considering the location. Anyone with half a brain or a modicum of respect for the customers hard earned money could turn this pit into a gold mine.
Abhorrent, avoid...
Read moreI'm afraid this cafe is a really overpriced let down in comparison to everywhere we have eaten breakfast in Salcombe and surrounding areas. £44.30 for 2 adults and an 8 year old! Cheap food products, not very well cooked and all served in a rush rush attitude. When I told the all very young and not very bothered staff that the table wasn't clean and had food on it they said "oh dear that's a shame!!" Then I went through 4 or 5 sets of self service cutlery that most definitely had not seen the dishwasher recently! When our food came the £2 mushroom side order was literally 3 mushroom cut in half and the toast was wrong type on all orders. Butter was in the foil wraps and was liquid you may as well poured out of a jug! The £5 milkshake was just watery cheap choc milk in a very small cup and the worst priced I've seen all holiday! Also cant remember the last time I was ever charged for tomato sauce sachets! If you are looking for even a modicum of decent breakfast go and find somewhere...
Read moreHave loved coming back to this place for the last 10 years, but in the last couple of years it has gone down hill. Captain Morgan's has lost it's original identity and charm. I feel that Covid-19 is being used as an excuse to cut costs. The paper boxes are not big enough for the food on offer. Full english is a stack of all the ingredients. Coffee burnt my tongue even though I did not ask for extra hot and scramble was still runny after requesting it to be well done. Last month I was given mayo that had expired last year! Management and product quality needs improvement. Items on the menu by the till point that are crossed out are actually being sold and that is not just an error as it has been like that for the last 2 months since the place reopened after lock-down. Please bring Captain Morgan's back to its...
