La Ranchera — Restaurant in South Hams

Humbled to have had my first true taste of authentic Mexican Food from this hidden gem, we traveled 50 minutes on advice from a trusted friend. I've eaten Mexican, cooked it, had it cooked for me, authentic is what I yearn and that is the main reason I left here so happy.

Food prepared and cooked freshly in front of you. Wonderful flavours (some ive never tasted) huge satisfying proportions, served in a warm and friendly environment. Polite and attentive staff, cool decor with A fun theme throughout. Nothing you have had can compare to this. I strongly urge anyone thinking of eating to come and start with the nachos and go from there.

You simply cannot regret or forget...

Our first visit, and certainly won't be our last. A meal for my Birthday but unfortunately two members of the family took ill last minute. Such a warm, friendly and welcoming place, immediately felt relaxed and in good company. The food was simply the best Mexican food we have ever had. And those that couldn't make it, had what they would have ordered packaged and ready to take home when we had finished. They didn't start preparing it until they could see we were almost finished. So they had it hot when we got home. I really can not wait to be able to visit...

I am visiting the UK from the states, I reside in Arizona land of Mexican cuisine lol. I am staying in Kingsbridge and have been wanting Mexican food, so I googled and found this gem! It was absolutely lovely! Definitely satisfied my craving. Chef was very kind as some dishes were prepared a lil different than back home so she explained how it was made but what a flavor explosion!
