First time customer, takeaway.

For a small establishment I was initially shocked, despite Covid, that the restaurant had a reminiscent buzz of the old days back before we had to dig dip into our pockets and find crumpled up masks. Combining this with the friendly staff - I thought I was in store for a dazzling treat.

I was wrong.

At best, the paneer tikka masala was bland. I can’t find anything more apt to describe this insult to the Indian cuisine. The dish had a small hint of chilli but lacked any real depth of flavour. Bizarre coming from a land of spice, almost admirable in fact to make something so tasteless out of so much abundance. It would be more fitting to call this dish mindless-white-bits-and-calories-a-la puddle. The dhal makhani was also a horror show and blandness prevailed yet again. A watery neon-orange mess which I’m sure I’ll be feeling the repercussions for days after consuming all but a bite. Needless to say, food colouring is a poor method to convince and deceive the customer into believing that they are tasting the ‘exotic’ however, be not fooled, the only tastes that deliver is a harsh spice that claws at the back of the throat and the residual tang of preserved salt (insert numerous carcinogens etc). The Maha-Bland (aka Maha-Bharat) is a fine example of a perfect con, plying customers with enough periphery treats to mask over basic gravy dishes which have been served with various different meat or veg - that is all. Despite having the monopoly in Kingsbridge we should never be in a position where we settle and it is glaringly obvious where the gap in the market is. Wasted calories and what a...

Wow! I've just moved down from Brighton where there is a great choice of Indian cuisine, ordered a set meal for 1, and was very happy and surprised that they let me change a couple of dishes but pay any extra. I went for the mild set menu for 1, £17.95, which was,....chicken tikka starter, meat korma rice and nan. Swapped the korma for a lamb methi, the plain nan for a keema nan. £22 delivered. OMG! Had a drunken feast last night and thought it was great! Just had the leftovers, OMG again! There was way more than last night on the plate....... It tasted even better, yet more of it! The meat content was way more than I've been consistently getting in Brighton and the sauce much thicker and sooooooo good! 100% I'll be using this restaurant as a go to in the future. Everything tasted amazing, ingredients were fresh and got 2 awesome meals for just over a...

I cannot believe the terrible service and food I have just received!!! Save yourself the money and go somewhere decent! I ordered nearly £40 worth of food and when it arrived it not only was cold and needed reheating but it was flavourless, runny and over cooked. I have been an extremely loyal customer for many years and when I called the manager to ask him if anything has changed, I was greeted with rudeness and insults!!!! I was told that it was me who was wrong, they are the best and I didnt know what I was talking about. I then told him he was being incredibly rude and he told me he doesn't need my custom and to not order again!! I cannot believe I ever wasted my money at a restaurant that cares so little about...

I live in the Midlands which is famous for Indian restaurants but the Maha-Bharat has them all beaten and this is now easily my favourite Indian restaurant having eaten here for the last 7 years or so and I can't fault it. The food is 1st class and some of the best I've eaten. Recommend the chicken tandoori or tikka which are both superb, mouth wateringly tender and succulent. The service is always 1st rate and you are well looked after throughout the meal. It's not the cheapest but for the quality you get it's well worth paying the extra. Easily recommended, if you're in the area and like Indian food then you have to try it. My only complaint is that I don't live closer!

Excellent top class service! enjoyed Sunday evening dinner in here. We didn’t have a booking, restaurant was full, but very friendly professional staff seated us in waiting room to have choices of takeaway or seating in. It was great we stayed. Food was top delicious! We had starter pappadom with all this delicious sauces, chutneys. Vegetarian curry with garlic nan . All food was fresh and mouthwatering. Lamb biriani with vegetable curry. Waiters were great helpful, friendly, polite. Definitely recommend this place it has beautiful interior, modern bathrooms. And great people who work there! 5***** experience

I spent four nights in Kingsbridge and thought that the restaurant selection was average at best, but this Indian restaurant stands out head and shoulders above the other offerings. Excellent food, service and atmosphere (the beer's very expensive though - £7.75 for a pint of Kingfisher 😯). Two courses plus a pint of Kingfisher for about £35. More expensive than I would pay at home but I guess this is an expensive part of the country. If you're looking to eat out in Kingsbridge this should be on your list.
