A bit remiss of me, having lived in Kingsbridge for 2 years, I had never visited this restaurant. It has a narrow entrance way and so I came across it by chance and was intrigued enough to book a Birthday meal with my other half. Think Tapas, but bigger portions, its a sharing experience. I chose 3 dishes and my other half chose 3. I had no room left for desert. Service was friendly and very helpful in that it was our first visit. Booking is essential as it is very popular in the warmer months. Its now on my list to revisit .. no Birthday needed

A warm welcome. Great food in this lovely little restaurant that has a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Be sure to book a table if you can. It's clearly popular, and space is limited. We enjoyed the dishes we chose 😋 the chef clearly knows what he is doing. Everything was enjoyable, although we were so full by the end we asked for takeaway boxes. The table still with uneaten little delights we hadn't managed to conquer. Make sure you go hungry 😅. We visit Kingsbridge fairly regularly and will definitely be going again.

Lovely tapas resturant in Kingsbridge, we drove the 15 minutes from Salcombe and it was 100% worth the trip! Parking is pretty easy in the town and this place is just a stones throw from the water. We had a variety of tapas dishes and a nice bottle of red. All were delightful and I really enjoyed the variety of flavours. Favourite dishes were the scallops, gambas and I personally alway love padron peppers. All in all very tasty and reasonable, a very flavoursome meal for 2, with drinks and tip for around £90.

The Old Bakery is a short 5 minute walk from the main car park but the car park charges up until 8pm so beware!

The Old Bakery is in a lovely building and the main dining area is delightful with a great sense of intimacy but with a slightly rustic feeling.

We decided to share all of our dishes and had 6 between us - pan fried chicken livers, Souvlaki, Persian lamb, Octopus,a bulgar wheat salad and Dolcelatte.

The chicken livers were delicious and perfectly cooked in a sherry sauce, the Souvlaki were tender and very tasty and the salad was outstanding with lots of flavour and different textures. The Octopus was a nice texture but slightly lacking in flavour. We thought the portion of dolcelatte was rather on the small side for the price and as there were 2 of us it would have been great to have had 2 or 4 souvlakis rather than 3.

The wine choice was good and we had an excellent Douro which went prefectly with everything.

The churros with chocolate sauce were excellent - and I dont usually do deserts!

Service was great and the manager was exceedingly charming and friendly.

The meal for 2 with wine was £76 which I though was good value for an...

Booked fairly late in the day and we were very pleased to get a table. The food and flavor combos are bloomingly lovely, especially the sticky chicken in pomegranate molasses, which was amazing! 🤩

The team very knowledgeable, they base their interpretation of tapas and seasonal variations on good local produce, with a great selection on the menu, which is complemented by dishes of the day. Gutted they had ran out of the cauliflower 😕

We had a lovely warm greating and made to feel welcome and it was nice to see a young family that felt relaxed enough to play cards post dinner, along with friends groups chatting till service ended, all with no pressure to move on. It was relaxed, but attentive enough that you felt well looked after.

We had a lovely bottle cabernet sauvignon to accompany our choice of 7 dishes and they even indulged me in my twee request for an Irish coffee.

It's a great little place for two, a family evening or to meet friends for a catch up whilst indulging...

My first time at The Old Bakery. Lovely atmosphere and tables not packed in. This is a tapas type style of eating with dishes varying between £7 and £9.50 per dish. Servings were quite generous so budget for two dishes per person. I chose calamari and Persian spiced lamb chops. We shared the patatas braves between the four of us. The menu catered well for veggies, pescatorians and meat eaters. Wine list was very good and we went for an Argentinian Malbec. The total bill for four including wine was £111.50 excluding service. If wheelchair access is required, booking for the downstairs area is necessary. Toilets for disabled on the ground floor. Loos very clean. Cutlery...
