Gurkha Oven — Restaurant in South Holland

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gurkha Oven in Spalding and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service that made us feel right at home.

To start off our meal, we ordered the momos, prawn puri, and chaat, and each dish was an absolute treat for the taste buds. The momos were perfectly steamed and packed with flavorful filling along with the special chutney, while the prawn puri had a delightful crunch and a burst of seafood goodness. The chaat was a wonderful medley of tangy and spicy flavors that left us craving for more.

What really made our visit memorable was the fact that we were celebrating our nephew's birthday. The staff at Gurkha Oven went above and beyond to make it a special occasion. They surprised us with a beautifully presented birthday dessert complete with a candle and a heartfelt rendition of the birthday song. Our nephew was overjoyed, and we were touched by the thoughtfulness and attention to detail displayed by the staff.

Although the service was a tad slow but that may be because they were understaffed and the restaurant was packed for a Wednesday night. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready to assist us with any requests or questions we had.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a family celebration.

Overall, our dinner at Gurkha Oven was nothing short of fantastic. The delicious food, outstanding service, and the extra effort taken to make our nephew's birthday special truly exceeded our expectations. We left the restaurant with smiles on our faces and hearts full of gratitude. With family visiting from Wales. We decided to have a meal out. This was our first visit to Gurka oven since moving to the area We'll what can I say.... Two mo-mo and two Gurkha mixed platter starters both dishes amazing.. we each tried each others dishes and thought all delicious For our mains We all had different different mains and rices Goat curry, butter chicken, chicken napel and chicken num num. Egg fried rice, pilau rice and Gurkha rice once again we all had tasters of each others dishes. Once again everything was delicious to our different palates. Congratulations and thank you to the chefs 100% for the food, excellent!!! The front of house staff very welcoming and friendly. Very attentive, polite and respectful 100% for service The ambiance was wonderful a great atmosphere very comfortabl and relaxing. We were not rushed in any way shape or form. I would highly recommend anyone to visit We will definitely return. We will get more local friends to come as they have been wanting to try. I can't wait to take them and show them what they have...

Visited for the first time tonight. What a beautiful experience. Firstly starters... I had a Prawn Puri and it was the best I had ever had! The prawns were so fresh and the bread was the lightest I have tasted.. delicious! We also had the Gurkha mixed starter, a non greasy perfectly fried onion bhaji, moist chicken pieces and a flavoursome sheek kebab.. Then mains... A chicken rum rum, very medium spiced.. full of flavour 😋 A chicken tikka biriani.. Beautiful moist chicken, packed with flavour and in a delightful lidded pot accompaniedby a veg curry Sag paneer.. they had fried the paneer so was full of texture Tarka Dahl was so good lovely and soft lentils and not too overpowered with garlic.. Garlic nan was freshly cooked and not stodge Pilau rice 🍚 fluffy

All in all, a very tasteful experience and very attentive staff... came and checked throughout the meal and wanted to know if they could do anything for us...
